Controversial YouTuber EDP445, real name Bryant Moreland, has officially been arrested on sex crime charges, according to TMZ. After being arrested in Nevada, EDP will be sent back to Kern County, California, where the charges have been filed.
The charges include attempted lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14, meeting with a minor for lewd purposes, contacting a minor with intent to commit a sexual offense, and sending content with the intent to seduce a minor.
These charges follow a sting operation from years ago in which Moreland admitted to trying to meet up with a 13-year-old for sex. While authorities ultimately dropped their investigation, the case was picked back up after a documentary called The Sick Mind of EDP445. During an interview with Chris Hansen, he admitted to everything, which led to the Kern County DA investigating further.
According to popular predator catcher JiDion, EDP was tracked down by him and his team after a warrant was issued for the YouTuber’s arrest. He documented the arrest on his Instagram channel.
“In light of recent statements made by Moreland in the documentary, the Kern County District Attorney’s Office and the Kern County Sheriff’s Office reopened the investigation,” the Kern County DA wrote in a statement. “Following its review of the new evidence, the District Attorney’s Office determined that the evidentiary threshold for filing criminal charges had been met.”
This story is developing. At this time, EDP445’s status is unknown, although court hearings will be on the horizon given the severity of these charges.
