Added on September 22, 2026 inFree CelebrityNews

In today’s cosmic comedy of errors, we find ourselves peering into the curious pairing of TV chef and star of Great British Bake Off, Nadiya Hussain, and chart-topping sensation Ed Sheeran. What happens when a baking queen calls out a pop prince for indulging in a little thing called “white tears”? Well, it seems the stars have aligned for a showdown of truly celestial proportions! Hussain, not one to shy away from drama, shared a scathing video criticizing Sheeran’s on-stage apologies, suggesting he’s painting himself as the ‘victim’ in a much larger narrative of accountability. As Mercury dances in retrograde, demanding we reevaluate our truths, it seems Sheeran’s emotional outpouring only added fuel to the fire. And what’s the surprising astrological lesson here? Sometimes, it’s not the tears but the accountability that truly counts. Will the universe let them bake it out, or will they end up burnt in the tabloids? Let’s dig a bit deeper into this star-studded saga! LEARN MORE.

Great British Bake Off star Nadiya Hussain has shared a video accusing Ed Sheeran of making himself into the ‘victim’ and crying ‘white tears’ following his on-stage apology.

The chef and TV personality appeared to be less than impressed with Sheeran’s recent comments as she shared a scathing post from British therapist Megan Cooper who said people need to ‘understand and educate’ themselves on ‘white tears’.

At the weekend, Sheeran took to the stage for the first time since his Loop Tour was thrust into chaos after rapper Macklemore was dropped from the line-up due to pro-Palestine comments he made during a performance.

Last week, Macklemore broke his silence, with a statement saying he’d been ditched from the remainder of the tour after Gillette Stadium boss Robert craft had issued Sheeran an ‘ultimatum’, which saw him eventually being dropped.

In the wake of Macklemore’s removal from the tour, all of Sheeran’s support acts announced they would be quitting the tour.

On Saturday (19 September), Sheeran made his first appearance on the Loop Tour since it was thrown into crisis, and became tearful as he addressed the situation on stage.

The 35-year-old admitted he’d made ‘mistakes’ and said he’d be thrown into the middle of an ‘important’ argument.

Speaking to the crowd at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, he said: “I’ve had to take and make difficult decisions, and I am making mistakes and I’m so, so sorry for them.

“I don’t want to disappoint fans, and I’ve never wanted to be an activist musician, but this has put me in the middle of an important and passionate argument about freedom of speech and the most complex political issue on the planet.”

Sheeran then spoke about the toll the situation has taken on him, telling fans that he worried the tour may not continue and that he felt his loved ones had ‘abandoned’ him.

“I really didn’t know whether this tour would be carrying on,” he continued.

“In these situations, you really find out who your friends are and it’s been a weird week. I just feel like it happened very quickly.

“In the back of my mind, I saw the ticket sales for this gig and I didn’t see cancellations, I saw people buying tickets for this gig.

“Everyone’s telling me to cancel and I’m feeling all of my friends and family and people I know abandon me.”

However, it seems his apology didn’t sit well with everyone.

GBBO winner Hussain shared a clip from ‘trauma-informed holistic coach and therapist’ Cooper which hit out at Sheeran’s apology.

In the clip, which Hussain shared without comment, Cooper said: “We’re all waking up to Ed Sheeran’s statement on stage, and I’m not going to go into what he said, but I do want to focus on one specific point.

“For those of us in white bodies, we need to understand and educate ourselves on white tears.

“White tears [are] a cultural tactic using emotion, consciously or unconsciously, to deflect accountability, to gain sympathy, and to centre self in conflict and challenge, particularly during discussions around racism and oppression.’

She went on to say that ‘not only does emotion meet whiteness, but it also meets patriarchy. So what we have [are] not just tears, it’s power’.

“What happens is we become the victim,” she continued.

“Our emotion is now prized above the actual issue, in this case, genocide. What this shines a light on is whose tears get to be seen, listened to, and heard in our society, and whose don’t.”
