The stars have aligned in an astronomical twist of fate as the results of the 46th Razzie Awards are finally in! This year, Prime Video’s cinematic blunder, War of the Worlds, has taken center stage as the illustrious (or should we say, infamous?) winner of five Razzies, cementing its place in film history for all the wrong reasons. With Ice Cube leading the charge, this “bar-lowering cringefest” has not only triumphed in categories like Worst Picture and Worst Actor but has also ignited a curious conversation about the fascinating allure of bad cinema. Could it be that in this Mercury retrograde season, where miscommunication reigns supreme, we might find solace and hilarity in embracing artistic failures? Dive into the chaos where cringe meets comedy and discover the results that left us shaking our heads in disbelief! LEARN MORE

The results of the 46th Razzie Awards are in, and this year’s big winner/loser is Prime Video‘s bar-lowering cringefest, War of the Worlds! The movie, starring Ice Cube, “won” five of the six categories in which it was nominated, including worst actor (Ice Cube), worst prequel, remake, rip-off, or sequel, worst director (Rich Lee), and worst screenplay (Kenny Golde, Marc Hyman). Yikes! Still, imagine the streaming numbers the Rick Lee-directed disasterpiece will rack up among people who love to engage with terrible cinema. These awards could be a genuine win in disguise.

Losing the War Within

“Utterly destroying H.G. Wells’ classic novel, director Rich Lee (maybe inspired by Ed Wood) chose a goofy gimmick, hack dialogue and a particularly hilarious performance by its lead, Ice Cube, to seize 2025’s biggest number of statues,” Razzie organizers said.

Other “winners” at this year’s ceremony include “all seven artificial dwarves” from Disney’sSnow White, with organizers saying, “It cost a fortune and lost a fortune, perhaps cursed by Walt [Disney] himself for having ignored his dying wish for it never to be remade.”

Rebel Wilson and Scarlet Stallone Steal the Spotlight

Elsewhere, Rebel Wilson “won” the Razzie for Worst Actress for her role in Bride Hard. At the same time, Sylvester Stallone’s daughter, Scarlet Rose Stallone, took home the prize for Worst Supporting Actress, thanks to her part in Brian Skiba’s Western Gunslingers.

There’s not too much variety winning out at this year’s Razzie Awards, with War of the Worlds taking home the lion’s share of the embarrassment. Then again, that means many nominees walked away unscathed. That may be in their favor, even if being nominated is its own cinematic sin.
