Bravo fans are calling on each other to boycott one of the network’s new shows, “Small Town Trouble: Texas.”

The new series follows a group of conservative husbands and wives in Boerne, Texas, and will air in November 2026.

The cast features Aaryn Williams (formerly Aaryn Gries), who was slammed on social media and by Julie Chen Moonves in 2013 after making racist and homophobic comments on the popular television show “Big Brother.”

Bravo Announces New Show With Controversial ‘Big Brother’ Contestant

Bravo, known for “The Real Housewives,” “Vanderpump Rules,” and “Summer House,” announced its latest slate of shows yesterday, October 22, including “Small Town Trouble: Texas.”

“Set in Boerne (that’s Bur-nee to the uninitiated), Texas, the series follows a charming yet unconventional group of wives, mothers and social insiders,” part of the show’s description reads. “As conservative values of small-town life collide with forbidden attraction, messy friendships, and shocking secrets. Here, perception is everything, temptation is everywhere, and the truth is never as buttoned-up as it looks.”

In addition to Williams and her husband, Nick Williams, the show features Alli McAnelly, Annari Uys, Gabby Hernandez Huffman, and Hailey Head. Blake McAnelly, Duan Uys, Jordan Huffman, and Josh Marsalis are also part of the main cast.

The Bravoverse, however, isn’t thrilled about the new series. Not only have some voiced frustrations about the network, whose fans are primarily women and members of the LGBTQ+ community, platforming self-proclaimed conservatives, but they’re also furious with its decision to cast Williams.

For those unfamiliar, Williams appeared on season 15 of “Big Brother” in 2013. During her season, she made headlines for making racist and homophobic comments about her fellow houseguests.

Williams had an intense conversation with Julie Chen Moonves following her eviction more than a decade ago, and said being labeled racist is a stereotype that follows Southern people. “That’s not me, and I apologize to anyone that I’ve offended for that,” she said.

Bravo Fans Are Calling On Each Other To Boycott The Network’s New Conservative Show

On X, one user called the new show Bravo’s “Secret Lives of Racist MAGA Wives” before expressing excitement that there were no “Black people on this show.”

They also criticized Williams, claiming that the former “Big Brother” contestant has “doubled down on her bs for years.” The X user continued, asking Bravo fans not to watch or “even hate watch” the new show.

Another user shared a similar response, writing, “No one is ever really canceled. You can be blatantly, disgustingly racist on television, and eventually, they’ll just give you another show.”

Users on Reddit reacted similarly. “Pull this show now,” someone wrote. “I’m so sick of racists being platformed. Bad enough we got openly racists being praised [in] politics.”

“I’m genuinely shocked that they decided to move forward with someone who has this much documented confirmation of being a bigot,” another wrote. “Weird that the bar seems to be higher for ‘Love Island’ than it is for Bravo. I sincerely plead with everyone not to watch this sh–.”

Bravo viewers are also frustrated that the network greenlit a new show with an all-white cast after canceling at least four shows with diverse casts.

The network canceled “Family Karma,” which followed a group of Indian-Americans in Miami, in 2023. A year before that, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Kandi Burruss’ spin-off, “Kandi & The Gang,” was put on pause.

And that’s not all. “Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard,” which featured an all-Black cast, followed by “The Real Housewives of Dubai” and “The Real Housewives of Miami,” was also halted.

Bravo’s decision to cast Williams in its new series also seems to run counter to the network’s pledge to better vet its talent after Jennie Nguyen was fired from “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” following the resurfacing of offensive posts she made about George Floyd online.

According to Deadline, new seasons of “Next Gen NYC,” “Southern Hospitality,” and “In the City” are in production. The network also announced that a new show, “Next Gen ATL,” has been greenlit.

“In a city where hip-hop, sports and entertainment shape the social scene, Next Gen Atlanta follows a new generation of rising personalities making their mark. Some have famous ties, while others are building their reputations from the ground up, but all have big dreams and plenty to prove as they juggle careers, friendships and family dynamics,” the show’s logline reads.
