Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream had a chip on their shoulder when they entered Gateway Center Arena at College Park on Saturday, June 6, 2026. It was their first game after getting steamrolled by Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever the Thursday before. In her post-game conference, Reese delivered a strong message after her team’s bounce-back win.
“I think honestly just coming back home, you protect your house,” Reese told reporters after the game. “You don’t want anybody to come into your house and beat you. Obviously, we don’t like to lose and the way we lost wasn’t something that we wanted. Of course it was for us to all come together and try to find ways to be better. I think everybody took a look in the mirror last game and figured out how we can individually be better for the team. I think we came out and did that tonight.”
For those who might’ve missed it, the Dream dominated the Washington Mystics yesterday, winning 109-77. Reese finished the game with 18 points and a season-high 17 rebounds. It was also her fourth consecutive double-double and her seventh of the season.
Rhyne Howard had 19 points, Allisha Gray had 15 points, and Jordin Canada and Madina Okot had 11 points apiece.
In addition to Reese’s stats above, the LSU sensation also went 10/10 from the free-throw line. Speaking about her performance from the charity stripe, Reese said she’s been working hard on her game and was happy to see that show up on the court.
“I work on [free throws] every single day,” she said. “I know that I’m gonna get to the free-throw line a lot. Me and [my coaches] work a lot on swishes and make sure it’s going straight in and coming right back to me. And I do that every single day and every single day.”
She added, “It’s just something that I make sure I perfect and something that I can always rely on. Free throws happen, and you never know how the game may go, but when I get them, I make sure to knock them down.”
Reese was traded to the Dream in April 2026, and in an interview shortly after the transaction, Reese said the move was “literally a dream come true.”
The 24-year-old, who spent her first two years in the league against Chicago, went on to speak about how appreciative of the opportunity, according to The Blast.

While the veteran WNBA coach eventually settled down, he was escorted off the court by College Park police.
In an interview after the game, Johnson told the media, “I lost my cool,” per PEOPLE. “There’s nothing more than that. That’s it. Officials did what was right and appropriate, and that’s all I can say.”
Johnson went on to praise Atlanta for their gameplay, adding that it was a learning moment for him and his team.
Also speaking about his ejection, Johnson stated that his behavior wouldn’t be a “consistent thing.”
According to a previous report from The Blast, Reese is selling her Chicago residence for $1.45 million after being traded to Atlanta.
The Lemont, Illinois, home has five bedrooms and three bathrooms. It also features an open concept and comes packed with a chef’s kitchen, updated lighting, a first-floor study, an entertainment room, a three-car garage, a lookout basement, and a massive backyard.
