The woman who was ushered off stage over her reaction to Usher’s seductively dancing on her has spoken out following the backlash.

Gabrielle Cheyenne went to Usher’s Nashville show on Saturday (25 July) and was invited on stage by the singer during his performance of his 2004 hit ‘Can U Handle it?’

However, Cheyenne seemed unimpressed by the topless star’s sensual moves, prompting Usher to stop dancing and telling the crowd: “I don’t think she wanna be on stage.”

He then walked off and signalled for Cheyenne to leave the stage.

After footage of the moment was shared online, some folks questioned why Cheyenne agreed to go up on stage in the first place.

One asked: “Why is she even there, most likely front row, if she’s not ready for that to happen?”

A second said: “Why did she agree to go up? What was she hoping to happen?”

Tonight, Cheyenne took to Facebook where she went live to share her side of the story.

Explaining why she decided to go on stage, she said: “It was literally a once in a lifetime opportunity.

“That’s not something that you can just wake up and do every day. That just doesn’t happen, you can go to a million concerts and never get pulled on stage.”

Cheyenne said that it was ‘fine’ for folks to have their opinions but said that the response had been a shock to her as she wasn’t an avid social media user and that she avoided drama.

“I’m very private. I don’t be on social media,” she said.

“I take pictures and don’t post them. Social media is not a real place.”

She went on to say that her initial response had been posted ‘out of frustration’ after seeing the backlash.

“I woke up to my phone and everyone in the city bashing me and calling me out of my name and disrespecting me,” she said.

“It started with one person and went from there. The image portrayed of me isn’t correct.”

Cheyenne, who confirmed that she wasn’t married as some people had claimed online, said the incident had been ‘blown way out of proportion.

“It was never supposed to be this big,” she said during the 45-minute long livestream.

“I got on stage with Usher. I got on stage with Usher, in front of thousands of people. Whether it was me wanting to just have the experience or me [wanting] to be seen.

“Or how do y’all know that once I got up there, I didn’t feel uncomfortable or whatever?”

She continued to hit back at claims she was a ‘mean girl’ or ‘someone with an attitude’.

“Why can’t it be, ‘maybe she was nervous?’ Or ‘we don’t know what took place’ or ‘we don’t know if she knew exactly what was going on’,” she added.

“It doesn’t have to be ‘she shouldn’t have got up there.”

Usher is currently on The R&B Tour with ‘No Guidance’ singer Chris Brown, in which they are co-headlining stadiums across North America.

Brown, 37, pled guilty to affray in London last week after a 2023 altercation, but it seems as if his legal troubles haven’t got in the way of his performances.

Speaking of Brown, Usher said: “He’s my brother, and he’s amazing as a performer. That’s who I see. He works hard for his fans, and his fans support him.”
