The latest absence was for the bridal shower of Donald Trump Jr.’s fiancée, Bettina Anderson.
Melania Trump was previously a no-show at the baby shower of Tiffany Trump, her husband’s youngest daughter, with reports claiming that she was busy with her son Barron Trump.
For the second time in a row, Melania reportedly chose not to show up at a family event.
According to the HuffPost, the first lady was noticeably absent from the bridal shower for her step-son Donald Trump Jr.’s fiancée, Bettina Anderson, which took place at Mar-a-Lago on Sunday.
It hasn’t been reported if Melania received an invite, but other key figures from the Trump family made it to the event, including Ivanka, Tiffany, and Marla Maples, Tiffany’s mother and Donald Trump’s second wife.
Her noticeable absence comes after the mother of one was also not present at Tiffany’s baby shower, which took place in Miami and was hosted by Ivanka.
Interestingly, President Donald Trump was also a no-show, despite the incoming child being his youngest daughter’s first child with her husband, Michael Boulos.
He instead spent his time golfing and hosting fundraiser events during the LIV Golf tournament, which garnered him backlash due to the ongoing situation between the US and Iran.
The attendance at the baby shower event was similar to the bridal shower, with the likes of Erik Trump, Lara Trump, and Anderson also showing up.
For now, it is unclear why Melania skipped out on the bridal shower, especially as it took place in Mar-a-lago, which is owned by Trump.
She has also not addressed being absent from Tiffany’s baby shower, a move that is reported to have raised eyebrows.
“Just the fact that Melania wasn’t there is really something,” said New York Magazine’s Intelligencer.
Meanwhile, a source told People Magazine that there was “no reason” for Melania Trump to attend Tiffany’s baby shower, adding that she “has her own schedule, even on weekends.”
The insider also claimed that Melania was busy spending time with her 20-year-old son, Barron Trump, that day, though no details about their activities were shared.
Interestingly, weeks ago, the majority of the Trump family were absent at Melania’s son’s birthday as he turned 20.
At the time, a source told journalist Rob Shuter’s “Naughty But Nice” substack that Melania didn’t want her son’s half-siblings attending.
“They’re not close — at all,” one source told the outlet. “This wasn’t an oversight. They were left off the list.”
Another insider also pointed out that Melania wanted the focus of the celebration to be on her son.
“Melania is in charge, and she wanted this to be about Barron — not about Donald Trump, and not about his other children,” the source claimed.
One more noted that Melania feels her son’s half-siblings were all raised differently.
“Barron didn’t grow up with them in the same way,” the insider shared. “There isn’t a real bond there.”
Days ago, Melania shocked the world with a bombshell statement denying any links to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
She also denied having a relationship with his associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, and dismissed an email from the Epstein files that some have pointed to as proof of her alleged connection to the pair.
She slammed the allegations against her that have swirled since the Epstein files as “disgraceful” and called for it to end immediately.
Melania’s statement, which was delivered at the White House and lasted six minutes, did little to quiet the questions surrounding her alleged association with Epstein.
Instead, some asked why FLOTUS chose to make such a strong statement now, especially as attention on the Epstein saga has somewhat cooled following the release of the files.
This has since fueled speculation that she may be trying to “get ahead of something” by putting her own narrative out first.
