Can we just a minute to appreciate women? Actually, we’ll take a few minutes.

Oh, yeah, and their allies, too, because shout-out to the best man on Furious, thank you very much.

If anything, our Characters of the Week prove that women can hold their own and be compelling to watch in the process, so dive into our full list below!

Tamara – Reacher

(Prime Video/Screenshot)

There’s something endearing about what Tamara brings to the table as the B-Team on Reacher this season.

Ultimately, she’s a badass but also very caring, emotionally intelligent, and empathetic.

Goodness knows we cannot say the same for Amisha and Lila, right?

But Reacher Season 4 Episode 5 brought out the best of both as an adrenaline-soaked hour of high-speed chases, evading authorities, and badassery, and outside of Neagley, we haven’t seen another woman hold her own against Reacher quite as well.

(Prime Video/Screenshot)

Tamara was next to Reacher stride by stride as the authorities chased after them in this conspiracy quest, and it resulted in so many great action-sequences, that it had us on edge, most of which included Tamara.

We had the rappelling and glass moment, multiple foot chases where our girl showed off that she’s a runner and a track star, and Tamara was channeling the Dora Milaje through and through. Oh, and that hiding under the bridge thing? Awesome.

Shootouts on bridges, and so forth, the hour didn’t hold back, and neither did Tamara.

But also her softness when it comes to Jacob, how she grounds him and promised to keep him steady and on solid ground as he continues to spiral in his grief has been compelling, too.

Tamara can do it all, and has, and it’s been a pleasure watching her as a result.

Danny – Furious

(Disney/Sarah Shatz)

Basically, Danny is one of the only men on Furious who has rights. I said what I said.

Scoot McNairy holds his own in this show filled to the brim with powerhouse female performers, and Furious Season 1 Episode 7 gives him so much material to shine.

All season long, he’s been the consummate supportive partner and friend to Alice, a woman whom he’s loved, and it’s been a remarkable journey on the complicated path of loving trauma survivors.

Danny stumbled so much during this hour, especially when it came down to the drive and informing Alice of the video he saw. He didn’t know how to handle it, but he was able to articulate as much.

(Disney/Sarah Shatz)

Her love admission was something he struggled with, even though he feels the same way, and it’s that type of messiness that makes Furious so great, because human emotions are messy, and so are our favorite characters.

But we also saw a strong man who doesn’t bend his will or morality when it comes to doing what’s right or protecting those he cares about.

It was deeply satisfying to literally put his foot on Ed after threats to his son, and Danny, who is often mild-manner proved that he isn’t someone to trifle with.

He’s just genuinely a fabulous character all around and deserves his flowers.

Joy – Fightland

(Courtesty of Starz)

Can we give it up to Joy for finally doing something many of us have wanted to do for many episodes now?

With all of Cece’s scamming, slick comments, and all-around being obnoxious and every bit her father’s daughter, some of us have been waiting for someone to call her out on it and do something.

And if you’ve been stewing anytime you see Cece and Joy in a scene together, than you know what it’s been like wanting Joy to be that person.

Fortunately, Fightland Season 1 Episode 5 delivers, and by that we mean the slap heard around the UK. It’s a reminder that when it comes to a mother and her child, it’s best you tread carefully, or you’ll unleash the beast.

Yes, Joy is the MVP for that, hell, even Cece knew she had that one coming!

Lady Greyhounds – Ted Lasso

(Apple TV/Screenshot)

Things most assuredly got rowdy on Ted Lasso Season 4 Episode 4, and it was an absolute blast because of it!

Ted had his work cut out for him with a locker room full of ladies who didn’t necessarily get along, and the hour was interesting in regards to exploring how to navigate these dynamics and how they can look drastically different on a female team versus a male one.

But do you know what can bring a group of women with tension and their own beef together to work properly as a unit? Oh, you know, men and their misogyny.

A brawl has never looked so good, been so fun, and satisfied so damn much, and the Lady Greyhounds continue to carve out their own space in the Ted Lasso universe.
