Taylor Swift isn’t happy with Donald Trump using her tracks to promote his politics.
A social media account dedicated to promoting the polices enacted by the US President used the Grammy winner’s popular song ‘Father Figure’ in an online post.
Fans think that this might have been a bid to ride on Swift’s coattails ahead of the release of her new single on Friday (25 September) – and they also reckon she’s subtly pulled some strings to demand its removal.
On Wednesday (23 September), an Instagram account named @TeamTrump shared a post which prompted outrage among Swifties.
The account, which boasts 11.6million followers, shared a bizarre snap featuring a border wall, some antagonising words and Trump grinning on what was supposed to be an album cover.
The post was accompanied by Swift’s 2025 track ‘Father Figure’, which was released last year when she dropped her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.

The @TeamTrump post included an image of the president smiling on a mock CD cover alongside the words: “Zer(illegals) have crossed our borders in 16+ months.”
To make it all the more contentious, it was captioned: “And, baby, that’s sh0w business for y0u.”
The provocative post immediately prompted a lot of backlash from Swift’s supporters, with one fuming: “He is just starving for attention.”
Another wrote: “The way they crop her face like she’s not gonna see this and get petty about it.”
And a third queried: “Weird af. Is she gonna say anything about this?”
Although Swift hasn’t outright addressed the inclusion of ‘Father Figure’, the song has since been removed. Instead, the @TeamTrump post states: “This sound isn’t available.”

In response to Swift’s apparent work to remove the track, one person said: “As she should, they so desperately want attention and for Taylor to respond.”
Another wrote: “Never the hugest TS music fan – but respect how she gets s**t done.”
A third added: “Why does he keep doing things like that? He’s so obsessed with her.”
A fourth commented: “Even the president needs Taylor’s media attention.”
Swift’s fans seem to think that the Trump administration are trying to capitalise on the current buzz surrounding the music star, after she shared a snippet of her upcoming music video.
The ‘Love Story’ singer has roped in Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell for the visuals which accompany her song ‘Patient Zero’.

Swift shared a 13-second preview of the music video in an Instagram post and it is set to be debuted at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Sunday (27 September).
Trump has gone back and forth over his opinion of Swift over the years, as back in 2012, he revealed that he liked her.
Six years later, the singer took aim at him when urging fans to vote against Republican Marsha Blackburn during the Tennessee midterm race, calling her ‘Trump in a wig’.
In response, Trump told White House reporters at the time: “I like Taylor’s music about 25 percent less now.”
Things then turned sour between them after Taylor endorsed his political opponent, former vice president Kamala Harris.
But Trump appeared to backtrack last year when discussing her engagement to her now-husband Travis Kelce, as he described him as ‘a great player’ and Swift as ‘a terrific person’.
