It may be early October, but let’s be real—who doesn’t love a little pre-holiday gossip? In a bold twist—much like how today’s planetary alignments are throwing unexpected surprises our way—Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have apparently decided on their Christmas plans! The Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have returned to the U.K. with visions of sugarplums dancing in their heads, yet they’ve decided to skip the royal family’s traditional Sandringham celebrations. With a royal rift seeming to capture their hearts more than holiday cheer, it begs the question: is this a family feud or just a strategic retreat to avoid the holiday chaos? As the stars swirl and align this October, Harry and Meghan’s holiday plans might be more than just a seasonal shift—they could be a statement about their place in a family that’s felt the weight of centuries of tradition.
Now, onto the juicy details…
It may still be early October, but Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have apparently decided where they’ll be spending Christmas! The Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have returned to the U.K., but it seems they will not be spending Christmas with the rest of the royal family for their traditional celebrations.

Although Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are back in the U.K., they seem to have no plans to join King Charles, Prince William, Kate Middleton, or the rest of the royal family for their traditional Christmas celebrations at Sandringham.
On October 9, Page Six exclusively published a report confirming that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not join the rest of the royal family in the holiday festivities. One insider told the publication that “There is a hierarchy and the King is the CEO, he’s the boss — what he says go, so it’s better not to put themselves in any difficult position.”
The couple may spend the holidays in Northamptonshire, England, where they currently reside. They may also return to California to spend the holidays in the U.S.

Although they will not be spending the holiday with Prince Harry’s family, the insider told the publication that Meghan Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland, will join them, whether they celebrate in the U.S. or abroad.
The news comes amid rumors that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were planning to apologize to Prince William and Kate Middleton over their 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview. Royal journalist Tom Sykes told Page Six last week that the gossip was “total rubbish,” adding, “Harry has always said he will never apologize for anything.”
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield agreed, adding, “Prince Harry and Meghan remain defiant. My own sources have told me this story is absolutely not true.”
The “Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered” podcast host went on to say that, “If anything, the pattern has remained consistent,” adding, “I would treat claims that they now regret Oprah and are preparing to ‘eat crow’ with serious skepticism.”

During the infamous 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said the Royal Family had concerns about their son Archie’s skin color before his birth and had “several” conversations about it.
Markle also claimed that she was told that Archie would not have a royal title and would not be entitled to security. “That conversation I am never going to share, but at the time it was awkward; I was a bit shocked,” Harry said.
Markle also claimed Kate Middleton made her cry during her wedding planning, not the other way around, as initially reported. The interview created a rift between the two brothers that has not yet been repaired.

The Duke of Sussex often travels for speaking engagements and other responsibilities even after giving up his royal duties. However, he recently revealed in a new MasterClass exploring grief and healing that he tries to never spend more than ten days away from his wife and their two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5.
“The biggest factor for me is the energy and the joy and happiness that I get being with my family, especially our kids, and the joy and happiness I get by being on the ground for my work,” he said, as per PEOPLE magazine. “And the key to finding the joy and happiness balance is no more than 10 days away from my wife and kids.”
“This is balancing my work and the purpose behind that, as well as being a dad and a husband, and the sort of multi-identity elements coming together,” Harry added.
Prince Harry has a new MasterClass called “Redefining Grief: Building Resilience Through Loss.” He joined neuroscientist Dr. Mary Frances O’Connor to explore the grief that he experienced after losing his mother, Princess Diana, when he was only twelve years old.
Princess Diana passed away in a car crash in 1997. The loss affected his emotional well-being, as he discusses in his new MasterClass, which was filmed in California earlier this year. The class was released ahead of World Mental Health Day on October 10.
Proceeds will benefit two bereavement charities: Comfort Zone Camp and Scotty’s Little Soldiers.
