Jordan Brand is closing out its Bin 23 revival with a Western twist. The Air Jordan 4 “BIN 23” is set to release on December 26th for $355.

Firstly, the shoe is covered in rich brown tones. Suede wraps most of the upper, and pony hair sits on the cages. Secondly, the laces close with a bolo tie detail. Lastly, a leather hangtag adds to the saloon feel.

The tongue gets embossed lettering, and red accents show up on the heel. Even the midsole is different, since the visible Air unit is painted over.

Overall, it is a very premium release. The insoles and the outside of the box use an ostrich-inspired texture. Also each pair also comes with a Western-style postcard.

Only 2,300 pairs are reportedly being made, and each one is expected to be numbered. Sizing is listed as men’s, though some outlets say unisex. Look for it through SNKRS and select Jordan Brand retailers.

Air Jordan 4 “BIN 23”

Bin 23 has a fun backstory. The name comes from a real storage bin at Jordan Brand that reportedly held old samples and unreleased concepts for years.

The original series ran from 2010 to 2011 and gave classic Jordans a premium upgrade. This year, the line returned with the Air Jordan 3, 6, and 8. We covered the Air Jordan 8 PRM “BIN 23” earlier this year, and the Air Jordan 4 is the fourth entry.

The Air Jordan 4 is a smart fit for this theme. Tinker Hatfield’s 1989 design has plenty of panels and cages to play with. The brown suede and pony hair match that structure well.
