In a world where our favorite stars become our friends—albeit from a distance—nothing beats the rush of catching up with them on the red carpet! Recently, I had the absolute thrill of chatting with Adam Scott, the charming face of many beloved sitcoms, at CinemaCon in Las Vegas. He was there, of course, touting his latest horror venture, Hokum, set to take the fright fest to a whole new level next month. What kind of horror tickles his spine? And do you ever wonder which movie, during his impressionable years, seemed like a forbidden fruit of terror? If the stars are aligning for a good scare, you can bet Adam’s humor is right there with them, making it all the more enticing! But he’s not the only one making waves, as LaKeith Stanfield and Boots Riley also weigh in on the cinematic landscape with their unique perspectives—Riley even had something to say about the Marvel debate that might just make you rethink it all! So, grab your popcorn, and prepare for a delightful dive into the fun, fright, and light-hearted prose as we unearth their insights on the magic of film-making… and you won’t want to miss their hilarious anecdotes! Join me as we join the cosmic conversation! If you want to know more about this star-studded chat, just click on this link to LEARN MORE.

As a die-hard fan of Parks and Recreation, I was pretty psyched when, a few days ago, I was invited to chat with Adam Scott on the red carpet here at CinemaCon. Scott was in Las Vegas for a panel held by Neon, who are putting out his horror flick, Hokum, next month (we loved it when we caught it at SXSW—read our review). Happily, Scott turned out to be exactly the kind of guy you’d hope, with a great sense of humor and a laid-back, easygoing vibe. We spoke about Hokum, his love of genre and genre audiences, which movie scared him the most as a child, and more. For those who don’t know, Scott also hosts a series of podcasts with Scott Aukerman on artists like U2, Huey Lewis, and more. I had to ask him if he knew of the eighties band The Power Station, and his explanation of their particular sound made me totally lose it—which you can see in the interview (he called the supergroup “The Travelling Wilburys minus 15 years plus cocaine”).

I also spoke to the star and director of Neon’s I Love Boosters, LaKeith Stanfield and Boots Riley. Stanfield is always a humble, genuine guy to chat with, and he told me about some of his influences as an actor and his deep trust in his director. As for Riley, he was very happy to talk about his love of theaters and cinematic influences, even pushing back on Martin Scorsese’s (a director he loves) stance on Marvel, explaining his reasons for thinking an event movie can, in its own way, be just as genuine and artistic as more serious fare.
