The support from industry stars is evidently not all Spencer Pratt needs to secure a seat in office.

The reality TV star turned politician has not bagged the top spot at the Los Angeles Mayor primaries, as the results have shown so far. This comes amid making headlines for his increasing support from Hollywood icons and major names.

The heat surrounding Spencer Pratt’s battle to the top continues to rise largely between himself and the incumbent Mayor, Karen Brass. Both parties have called each other out during their campaign and on social media, releasing several scathing statements without holding back.

Pratt is up against the odds as he advances to secure political success and a sure spot at the L.A. mayoral runoff election. So far, the results have shown that he has won 29.1 percent of the votes as of early Wednesday morning.

These numbers put him in second place in the primary election, right behind his closest rival, Bass, who bagged 36.4 percent of the votes. The incumbent Mayor has earned a spot in the general election on November 3 in Los Angeles.

TMZ says the numbers will likely fluctuate as more votes are counted and recorded, but for now, it appears the two top candidates will face off in November. Because no candidate won more than half the vote in the primary, the race for L.A.’s Mayor will be decided in a runoff election between just Pratt and Bass.

Pratt cannot get too comfortable in second place because another one of his rivals is soaring with the numbers right behind him. City Councilwoman Nithya Raman, whom “The Hills” alum has publicly spoken against, has secured a spot in third place.

From the results so far, Raman wound up with 21.6 percent of the primary votes, meaning that Pratt is ahead of her by less than 8 percent. Since more votes are still being tallied, there is a chance that Raman could still leapfrog over Pratt in the primary, so a face-off between Bass and Pratt in November is not a sure thing yet.

Recently, the father of two targeted Raman on social media after she posted a video encouraging residents to vote. The clip featured Raman smiling and dancing to Natasha Bedingfield’s hit song “Unwritten.” He mocked the post, writing “The only thing worse than The Hills is Nithia’s campaign,” and his words ignited another level of controversy from internet users.

The list of entertainers backing Pratt kept increasing as the days rolled by. Recently, the former manager of Jusin Beiber joined the list, stating that there is a good possibility for the TV personality to win the Mayoral elections.

Scooter Braun noted that while he does not reveal who he votes for, he appreciated Pratt’s cause. “And what I really do appreciate about what Spencer [Pratt] is doing is he is bringing a lot of things to light that no one has brought to light,”  Braun said.

He continued, addressing the fact that Pratt has become the voice of many frustrated people in the city. Shortly before Sydney Sweeney’s beau made his statement, the former reality TV star namedropped two Oscar-winning actors whom he claimed have faith in his mission, as shared by The Blast.

Pratt said Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx reached out to him in the presence of multiple witnesses, saying, “Please, Mr. Mayor, we want these streets safe again.”

Pratt’s Supporters Extend Beyond The Entertainment Industry

The Mayoral aspirant has gained momentum in the race, securing support from fellow entertainers and more influential public figures. The Blast reported that Pratt recently received a donation from a major Silicon Valley name, Sergey Brin, who is the co-founder of Google.

Brin donated $1800 to Pratt’s campaign, which is the maximum amount an individual is permitted to give to a Los Angeles mayoral candidate. The news of the tech expert’s donation quickly made waves online because of Brin’s growing involvement in California politics.

According to previous reports, the A-list entrepreneur has invested heavily in political causes during the current election cycle. He has also spent large sums, resulting in tens of millions of dollars on state-level issues.

When one netizen highlighted the billionaire’s donation as evidence of his political shift, Pratt responded bluntly, writing, “It’s called common sense.”

Pratt has been called out a number of times as being unqualified to take the seat of Mayor of L.A., as he has no experience in politics. The incumbent Mayor brought the topic back to light on the eve of the elections, saying that Pratt cannot fill the big shoes a Mayor with her experience can.

Outlets caught up with Bass while she was eating at Pann’s Restaurant, where she was asked about her advice to voters still deciding between her and “The Hills” alum.

In response, she explained that the decision was not as complicated as it appeared to be because voters are to choose between someone who had made significant changes in office and “a reality TV star villain.”

The Blast shared that Bass went on slamming her opponent and labeling him ignorant about how the city government works. She said that he was not someone who had devoted his life to change or “brought about change in some very significant ways.”

The current Mayor reiterated that having a reality TV star in government is not the best picture, seemingly comparing it to President Donald Trump’s current government.
