Since 2013, Nikki Glaser has been in an on-and-off relationship with producer Chris Convy. And over the years, she’s talked super openly about their unconventional approach to monogamy.
To keep you up to speed, Nikki has explained that while she has no desire to have sex with other people, she has previously encouraged Chris to hook up with other women — so long as it’s purely sexual.
“I think girls sometimes can be convinced that, ‘He’s gonna leave her for me,’ like, that’s not gonna happen, so just know what this is,” she told Gwyneth Paltrow during an appearance on the Goop Podcast last year. “I think it’s definitely the competition thing of like, Ooh, maybe he will leave me for her. OK, I gotta step it up. I kind of like that… It’s a fetish. I’ve looked into it, it’s called Hot Husband.”
Nikki told Gwyneth the “sexual fetish” isn’t exclusive to Chris, and that in her past relationships, it’s always made her “really horny” to “hear about other women” while she and her partner are “fooling around.”
Well, if there’s one thing about Nikki, she’s always gonna keep it real. And so, she’s just discussed the topic in even more detail. Appearing on the latest episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper, Nikki discussed the boundaries that she sets when it comes to her partner’s relationships with other women, specifying that “emotional cheating would hurt” her.
“I sometimes don’t like to tell guys about this thing that I have…I don’t care if a guy has a sexual connection with a girl and he was to use protection and just have sex with her for a night. Like, I literally wouldn’t care if my husband did that,” she said. “[But] if he were to watch The Wire with her or do crossword puzzles or, like, text memes and stuff, I would be like, ‘What the fuck are you doing? That’s our thing.’”
Nikki also recalled how she first broached the topic with Chris at the start of their relationship, saying that it reached a point where he’d run out of steamy stories to tell her about his past hookups during foreplay, so she suggested he “go get some more stories.”
Alex asked if Chris was suspicious that it was some kind of “trap,” but Nikki said they made sure to keep the boundaries super clear from the start. However, remembering the very first time that Chris went out and hooked up with another woman, Nikki admitted that she felt a pang of jealousy because she “hadn’t communicated that I need her to know that I exist.”
Of course, Alex had to ask the question about what Chris has gotten up to over the years, but Nikki decided to keep the specifics private.
“He probably wouldn’t appreciate me elaborating on that, but there have been interesting things that have been, like, really fun for me to hear about and experience, and fun for him, too, because, you know, you get older,” she joked. “He’s 45, and I’m like, ‘Get out there, get some, know that you’re a sexual being again.’ Sometimes I’m too busy to be really sexy, so I’m like, ‘Go out and get some attention.’”
