Sahara Ray called her little girl her ‘whole world’ in a heartbreaking final post before the model tragically passed away aged 34.

Sahara’s devastated family confirmed her death in a statement to TMZ, saying: “She passed away last night surrounded by family at the hospital. She was so loved.”

Her mother Gretchen Bach, also paid tribute, telling the Daily Mail: “Sahara was an incredibly passionate and kind young woman who loved her family, fashion, her daughter Snow, and surfing.

“We’re feeling the love that is pouring in from her cherished friends, fans and the many communities that she was part of around the world.”

A cause of death has not been confirmed.

Sahara, who was the founder of her swimwear brand Sahara Ray Swim, was the daughter of surfer Tony Ray and spent her childhood living between Australia, California and Hawaii.

“I used to travel all over the world with him while he was competing in the pipe masters [and] big wave competitions.” she explained previously.

In 2016, she was romantically linked to Justin Bieber after she was photographed swimming with him in Hawaii.

That same year, Sahara enrolled at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles.

In January this year, she became a mother for the first time after giving birth to a little girl called Snow.

Shortly before the birth, Sahara shared a video of her baby bump, telling her 900,000 followers: “Wish me luck. I get induced today at 8pm. So excited, so nervous.”

The model and designer then later confirmed that she’d given birth, sharing a sweet snap of the newborn alongside the caption: “Snow Ray 1/27/2026. I can’t believe I made this little miracle with my body. I’m so proud and so in love.”

Sahara had shared insights into her life as a new mum, with a post back in April showing her and Snow.

In July this year, she shared what would become her last social media post – three photos of little Snow smiling into the camera, wearing a selection of outfits including a pale blue dress and a turpquois-coloured babygrow with matching bow.

Captioning the shots, Sahara wrote: “My whole heart 🤍 baby Snow.”

Snow was born in LA, but Sahara told The Herald Sun in 2016 that she had hoped to raise her family back home in Australia.

“Australia is where I want to end up and I want to have kids here,”she said.

“It’s more chilled and relaxed and even on shoots, it’s more about quality than quantity.”

Sahara previously spoke out about her serious health issues, revealing that she had been diagnosed with the auto-immune disease Guillain-Barre syndrome in 2024.

Sahara said she ended up with the condition – a rare neurological disorder – following a car crash and said it had left her partially paralysed.

Opening up about the condition in a since-deleted social media post in 2024, she said: “I’m so overwhelmed with what’s going on with me.

“So basically, right now I’m paralyzed from the tops of my upper thighs all the way down to my feet. I can’t walk at all… I am primarily in a wheelchair and I have a walker.”
