Ever wondered what it takes to juggle three residences like Melania Trump? I mean, who needs the White House when you have Mar-a-Lago’s Florida sun and the vibrant buzz of New York City, right? Reports suggest that Melania splits her time between these two glamorous locations, all while giving the White House a serious side-eye. On top of that, there are whispers about her reluctance to return to the Executive Mansion after Donald Trump’s first term—rumor has it she’d rather keep her distance, especially with his intriguing aide Natalie Harp fluttering about. Is the astrology of home bodies at play here? Perhaps the stars are simply telling Melania that refuge should always come with a solid skyline! Dive into this article as we unravel the curious lifestyle of the former first lady, who seems to prefer her privacy over public life—just as the cosmic tides relentlessly shift.
Reports reveal that Melania Trump maintains three distinct residences across three different regions of the United States and primarily splits her time among two of them, while hardly ever being at the White House.
The first lady has reportedly spent considerably less time at the White House and, instead, spends most of her time between Mar-a-Lago in Florida and the Trump Tower in New York City.
Melania was supposedly reluctant to return to the Executive Mansion after Donald Trump’s first term, and more recent reports have revealed claims that she doesn’t want to be there, especially when Natalie Harp is around.

A recent report has highlighted that the first lady splits her time between her three residences, which consist of the White House, Mar-a-Lago, and Trump Tower.
Melania reportedly does not live in the White House full-time despite it being the official workplace and traditional home of the President and First Lady of the United States and their family.
The White House seems to be the least favorite of her three residences, as she has stated in her documentary “Melania” that Mar-a-Lago was “more than a home” and her “refuge from the outside world.”
Trump Tower, on the other hand, is in New York City, which she said “captivated” her heart in a 2024 post on X.
“This electrifying town isn’t just my home; it’s a colorful canvas where dreams come alive. New York’s iconic skyline and vibrant culture inspire me every day,” she wrote.
Scrutiny of the first lady’s three homes comes amid continued speculation about her and Trump’s marriage, which has only worsened with unfounded rumors of the president’s close bond with his aide, Natalie Harp.
Several have trolled Melania online, with some joking that she doesn’t stay in the White House or with Trump long enough to care about the rumors.

Previous reports have revealed that Melania did not want to be back in office and at the White House. According to People Magazine, Melania was reportedly not interested in returning following the end of Trump’s first term in office.
A source told the outlet at the time that returning would be the “worst-case scenario for her.”
“Melania does not like being in the public eye and has made it clear that she isn’t interested in doing it again,” another source claimed. “She likes family and her private life. The media glare is not for her.”
The attention that naturally surrounds the executive mansion appears to be part of the reason she seemingly prefers to be elsewhere. However, she has previously said she liked her first time living there.
While Melania spends less time at the White House, she has also stated that she likes living there. In a 2022 interview on “Fox & Friends,” she expressed her fondness for Washington, D.C and the White House.
“I enjoyed living in the White House,” she said. “I enjoyed taking care of the White House. It was my home for a while. I understood it is the people’s house. It was a privilege to live there.”

Trump Biographer Michael Wolff claimed, as per the Daily Beast, that Melania’s reported absence at the White House is partly due to the presence of Trump’s devoted special assistant Natalie Harp.
“Melania, whose appearances with her husband were carefully negotiated and choreographed, would not show up if Harp was around,” Wolff said.
He continued, saying, “Since Harp was always around, Melania never was—appearing with her husband only in the last week of the campaign.”
Former Trump Aide Sarah Matthews said during an appearance on the “On Sunday with Jack Cocchiarella” podcast that she barely saw Melania while working at the White House.
According to The Mirror US’s report, Matthews claimed that she never met Melania at the White House despite working there long enough to have met the vice president, members of the first family and every cabinet official.
“It was this known thing that she was just not around, and she didn’t want to be around,” Matthews stated. “She didn’t want to stay at the White House. She thought the White House was old and falling apart.”

The blonde aide who Melania is alleged to be uncomfortable with has reportedly been moved to Trump’s private dining room, where he goes to watch TV and sift through stacks of printed materials.
A new report by the New York Times reveals that “A spot has been cleared for Natalie Harp, a devoted aide who now works out of that room when she is not seated behind the president at his desk.”
Harp, who has been a frequent presence beside Trump and allegedly sent him personal messages, is speculated to be one reason why Melania appears to sometimes avoid being at her presidential home.
However, such claims are yet to be proven true and remain rumors, as Melania has neither directly addressed the speculation nor publicly expressed having issues with the 35-year-old.

Melania has reportedly kept a lower public profile in her second term as first lady and has been notably absent from major public events involving her husband.
An analysis by the Daily Beast revealed that the 56-year-old was seen in public on just 47 days in 2025 and even less so in the first seven months of 2026, with only 38 public appearances.
She was reportedly absent from three major events in July, namely, Sen. Lindsey Graham’s funeral, the rescheduled White House Correspondents’ dinner, and the dignified transfer of US soldiers who were killed by Iran.
The outlet reported that her limited activity marked her as the “least hardworking” first lady of the millennium.
