The pair first met in April of 2025 on season 24 of “Celebrity Big Brother UK,” where they developed a close friendship that sparked relationship rumors. They officially confirmed they were together in June of 2025.
Since then, the couple has kept their relationship public. Now, Siwa is bringing them back into the spotlight with her recent comments about a dream engagement ring, and fans are wondering what the future holds for the celebrity pair.

When speaking on possibly walking down the aisle, Siwa shared, “I’ve always said that one day, if he proposes, I figured he’d ask my mom what kind of ring I would want, and I told my mom, I said, ‘Whenever he asks you, [tell him] I want him to design it completely. I want it to be completely his design.’ ”
Despite her desire to have Hughes come up with the ring, the dancer could not help herself, and she had previously searched for ring designs and had a Google image of a ring she described as her dream.
Over dinner one random night, she asked Hughes what he thought her dream ring would be, and they decided to show each other on the count of three.
“And we flipped it. And we were holding the same photo from Google! … It was like a blue emerald shape,” Siwa excitedly described to PEOPLE Magazine, noting that the odds of it happening were “so slim.”
The Singer went on to rave about how lovely things were going, “We’re about to have our year and a half anniversary, which is wild … It feels like last week.”
Her comments come almost half a year after they celebrated their first anniversary.
To commemorate the big occasion, Hughes took to social media to share three photos of himself and Siwa. In the first photo, the couple was seated cozily on a couch, with his arm lovingly wrapped around her.
The second video was a throwback to their first meeting on “Celebrity Big Brother UK,” where Hughes referred to Siwa as “very colorful.”
“One year ago today, I discovered your existence,” he captioned the post, per The Blast.
The 23-year-old echoed her boyfriend’s sentiments, responding in a very affectionate manner. “1 beautiful perfect year [white heart emoji] Feels like yesterday and 10 years ago all at the same time. Forever grateful to that house for so many reasons, but there is definitely one special reason.”
The conversation around Siwa’s potential sparking new bling does not come as a surprise. Last year, the Nickelodeon alum got real on her desire for a wedding ceremony after meeting Hughes.
“I’m happy. I’ve never wanted the future so bad. I’ve never, ever wanted the love that I have to just continue to grow,” Siwa shared while on an episode of the “Reign With Josh Smith” podcast.
While getting married has not been off the books for the reality TV personality, she always assumed she would simply go to Vegas or sign a piece of paper, without a dramatic ceremony.
However, since meeting Hughes, Siwa experienced a monumental shift. “Now I’m like, ‘No, I want a ring, and I want my Dad to walk me down the aisle, and I want a first dance, and I want butterflies.”
The 23-year-old has remained open about her feelings for the “Love Island” alum, and she disclosed when she knew she was in love with him.
Siwa attributed the knowledge to another celebrity, Meghan Trainor, saying the singer told her if she was in love, she would fantasize about having a child.
The conversation stayed with Siwa, and months into her relationship with Hughes, she shared with Trainor, “I get what you’re saying now.’ I love [Chris] so much. I need there to be a mini [Chris].”
Away from his wonderful romance with Siwa, Hughes made headlines for an unexpected reason: his financial status.
According to The Blast, his company, Chris Hughes Associates Ltd, formed after leaving “Love Island,” owed £423,243 ($559,774) to creditors for the year ending July 31, 2024.
The bulk of that, £409,057 ($540,984), was listed under “taxation and social security costs,” with additional amounts tied to bank loans and overdrafts.
In August of 2024, the tax authority, His Majesty’s Revenue & Customs, filed a petition to have the company wound up. The case was dismissed in April 2025, but the debt remained unresolved.
