As I embark on my 26th year of astrology blogging, let me tell you, 2026 has been a real mixed bag…or more like a snooze fest! Can you believe I sent out fewer newsletters this year because the skies were about as exciting as a wet sock? The whole tone feels a bit counterintuitive in our drama-filled digital age. But amidst the uneventful cosmic scenery, I’ve found peace in simplicity—kind of like finding that one perfect avocado in a sea of mostly rotten ones. So, how do we navigate the pressures of life with the current celestial vibes weighing down our shoulders? I like to think of it as an opportunity to adapt—not just to survive, but to thrive in our personal deserts as we learn to read the universe’s signs. Sit tight, and let’s dive into a few nuggets of wisdom on managing stress amidst this energetic storm—and maybe laugh a little while we’re at it! LEARN MORE.

I’m in my 26th year of astrology blogging. I’ve maintained my newsletter for 20 years, on top of that. There’s a rich history here, but this year stands out in its “simplicity”.
The first several months of 2026 were a total bore. I did not try to conceal this. I sent fewer letters, explaining there was nothing new to say; nothing to be concerned about, etc. This is counterculture for the five-alarm-fire internet, but I don’t see how a person can keep their credibility while promising world-altering events every few weeks. This is particularly true when the sky is benign, as it was earlier this year. I recommend people rest and regroup. Gather your nuts and such, in the fairer weather. The period was prolonged but not permanent.
It shifted when Mars Saturn came to the front. I work with a lot of people who want to maximize their presence or their impact on life. “Reading the room” is part of that. Considering something beyond what a particular individual wants. I’m talking about the condition of wanting something, quickly, that is coming to you, incrementally.
So now we’re about to wrap up September, which has been unrelenting, energetically speaking. The sky is broadly unappeasable, day to day and it must be noted: relief is not around the corner. So how does one cope?
Personally, I adapt to the terrain. If I need to trek across the desert, I trek across the desert. If I need to adjust my expectations in some direction, I make the change. If the writing is on the wall, I try to read it. If I need to kill a dream(delusion), I let the thing die, etc. These types of things are not negative. They conserve energy which is and will always be, precious.
The energy I get back is not necessarily needed to manage a crisis. The nervous system calmed, I can merely enjoy the present. Or I may have extra energy for clients, or energy to spend learning something new. I can also bank the energy; setting it aside for a rainy day.
This seems simple but there’s a big difference between my life scenario and most and I don’t think it’s obvious. I have excised all the manufactured, fake stress from my life.
So what if the unyielding pressure you’re under, forced you to do the same? Would it be worth it? Without a doubt, it would.
