As part of a surprise announcement, Charles Dance (Game of Thrones, Last Action Hero, Frankenstein) is the latest actor to join the cast of Matt Reeves’ highly anticipated superhero sequel. Dance is currently in talks to join the project, which stars Robert Pattinson as The Dark Knight. While his role remains unconfirmed, sources with more information than I’ve got say Dance would play Charles “Christopher” Dent, the abusive, alcoholic father of Harvey Dent.

DC Studios says The Batman: Part II will begin production in the spring for a theatrical release on October 1, 2027. DC co-bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran are producing, along with Dylan Clark. Reeves’ The Batman banked $772.2M worldwide during a post-COVID window.
Dance is a fantastic fit for Charles Dent. Dance plays Tywin Lannister in HBO’s original Game of Thrones series, who’s not exactly a prize. Charles Dance recently completed work on Thea Sharrock’s upcoming romantic comedy Ladies First. The film, starring Rosamund Pike, Sacha Baron Cohen, Emily Mortimer, Richard E. Grant, and Fiona Shaw, tells the story of what happens when a male chauvinist is transported to a matriarchal society and faces challenges from a formidable female version of himself.
