If you’ve been waiting for Chad to return on Days of Our Lives, we’ve got good news.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 4-20-26 promise that Connor Floyd will finally debut as Chad, and a new actor will be playing his son, Thomas, as well.
Chad isn’t the only big return, either — Lani is coming back to Salem just in time to support Chanel through what may be a difficult time in her life.
According to the Days of Our Lives spoiler video, Chad and his family will run into Cat soon after his return.
Sorry, but that doesn’t excite me one bit. I know Chad and Cat have this forbidden love thing going on, but I’d like him to have some more worthwhile storyline than this.
I don’t know what, exactly, but he’s supposed to be the editor of the newspaper in addition to being EJ’s brother and Stephanie’s ex.
With Stephanie so fragile right now and EJ in a war with Kristen, there is potentially a lot for Chad to do, and I’d rather he interact with these characters first.
Besides, didn’t his custody agreement say he was supposed to stay away from Cat?
It seems like an especially bad idea for him to interact with Cat while he has the kids with him, especially given that Thomas hated Cat before.
Just because there’s another kid playing him doesn’t mean that Thomas has magically changed how he feels.
Soap operas might often be over-the-top, but we take the stories in them seriously.

I’m glad that Thomas doesn’t seem much older, though.
Both Thomas and Rachel were recast around the same time, so rumors have been flying about making both kids teens, and so far, neither has been aged significantly.
While I enjoy SORASed teen stories, I also like it when kids stay younger for a bit longer.
Days of our Lives could do more with pre-teens than it usually does, and the relationship between Thomas and Rachel is more interesting this way.
I have mixed feelings about Lani’s return. I like the character more than I used to, but I don’t like the storyline she appears poised to get involved in.
Lani used to be an incompetent cop who was overly interested in sex, so I’m glad that she’s been rewritten as a loving mother, wife, and older sister.
Unfortunately, she’s arriving just as Chanel is beginning to take seriously the fact that she has a lump in her breast.
Chanel’s pregnancy story was enough — we don’t need a breast cancer story, especially if it’s going to be depressing.
With Chanel and Johnny both slated to leave Days of Our Lives later in the year, I don’t trust that Chanel will survive, nor that she won’t have to leave town for treatment.

It also seems weird that she doesn’t want to get this lump checked out right away, since she was the one who pushed Paulina to get the lump near her throat checked when Paulina had thyroid cancer.
This storyline might end up being a PSA for regular mammograms and early detection and treatment of breast cancer, but it’s also one I could do without.
Lani is also arriving in the middle of this mess with EJ secretly trying to resurrect Lexie while Kristen plots to kill Johnny.
This could be interesting! Lani should have lots of divided loyalties here, especially since she has a friendship with Kristen that could easily become romantic if the writers wanted to go in that direction.
Lani’s slated to visit Kristen on Days of Our Lives during the week of 4-20-26.
She was always the only person who could ever talk some sense into Kristen when Kristen went too far, but I don’t know that it’ll work this time.
Kristen is so full of rage about Rachel being re-committed to Bayview that she’s lashing out at everyone, and Brady is supposed to become enraged on Marlena’s behalf.
That means that if Lani tries to calm Kristen down, it won’t work.
Plus, she’s a cop, so Kristen can’t afford to let her in on her ridiculous plan with Sophia to kill Johnny in order to get back at EJ.
Some people have theorized that Kristen is setting Sophia up and doesn’t really want to hurt Johnny, but this really could go either way.
If Kristen is trying to mess with Sophia, she’s playing with fire, because once Sophia is convinced she has to attack Johnny, she’ll go much further than Kristen anticipated.
I don’t know what will happen if Lani is in town when Lexie reappears, assuming she wakes up, but there’s another serious problem brewing that she might get involved with as a cop.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 4-20-26 indicate that Steve will take Stephanie to the shooting range.
On Days of Our Lives, guns only appear as a precursor to someone getting shot, usually someone who shouldn’t be.
Stephanie might shoot Alex by accident or someone else on purpose. Either way, it’s bad news for her and at least one other person.
Days of Our Lives spoilers for the week of 4-20-26 include Joy returning to Salem, most likely with the baby she told Alex didn’t exist.
Jeremy is supposed to leave soon after — could Stephanie be leaving with him so Alex can be with someone who could give him the family he wants?
Or will Days of Our Lives go darker and have Stephanie or Alex shoot Jeremy after he already survived the kidnapping?
