This perfect week is like astrology’s answer to the age-old question: Can love and success coexist? The answer is an undeniable, glittering yes. LEARN MORE.
It’s been far from a cruel summer for Taylor Swift, who has enjoyed one hell of a week.
Taylor Swift married the love of her life, Travis Kelce, on Friday 3 July, and just three days later emerged victorious in a lawsuit, and she’s shaken off the infringement for good.
The megastar had the eyes of the world on her last week – well, as much as they could be with fences and boards keeping out prying eyes – as she tied the knot in New York City.
Hundreds of famous faces descended upon a ‘transformed’ Madison Square Garden for the multi-day event, with some even walking away with very expensive gifts for their troubles.
It may have been a love story in New York, but there was just bad blood in the court room, as Swift emerged victorious from a copyright infringement lawsuit.

Poet Kimberly Marasco has had her issues with Swift for some time and took her to court once again over claims that the pop star’s lyrics were a copyright infringement on her work.
E News reports that it was alleged Swift took inspiration from Marasco’s poem ‘Ordinary Citizen’ in her song ‘The Man.’
In the poem, Marasco writes: “I’m running behind / You say it’s His word against mine.” Which she alleged was similar to Swift’s lyric of: “I’m so sick of running as fast as I can / Wondering if I’d get there quicker if I was a man.”
However, it’s reported that the dismissal found the themes of a ‘woman working in a corporate environment’ to not be protected by copyright as they fell under the category of basic ideas and themes.
In the ruling from July 6, District Judge Aileen M. Cannon asserted: “The allegedly infringed material—basic ideas, themes, metaphors, isolated words, and short phrases—is not protected expression and cannot be infringed.
“The defects identified are not pleading defects curable by more careful drafting.
“They are defects in the underlying works themselves, which consist of ideas, themes, metaphors, and isolated words that no amendment can transform into protectable expression.”
Judge Cannon also dismissed the case with prejudice, which means Marasco will be unable to refile the lawsuit with the same claims ever again after being warned that the case was her final chance.
Marasco first sued Swift’s company in 2024 and then Swift herself in 2025 over similar claims.
Douglas Baldridge, Swift’s attorney, said in December: “This is plaintiff’s second frivolous and harassing lawsuit against artist.
“Plaintiff’s claims are, as in her last lawsuit, absurd and legally baseless.”
Swift and Kelce invited 1,000 guests to their wedding – and most of them were absurdly famous, uniting the worlds of sport, music, film and TV.
