"From Mosh Pit Madness to Floor Fiasco: What’s Behind the Concert Crappy Chaos?"

Added on August 2, 2026 inFree Music News

As I gaze at the celestial alignments today, one can’t help but wonder: has the universe decreed that our concert experiences must come with unexpected twists of fate? With ticket prices soaring to astronomical heights, one might expect that the only surprises at a concert would come from the unexpected encore or surprise guest performer. Yet, some unfortunate attendees have faced a different kind of shock—an explosion of a rather unsavory nature. Yes, it seems that a bizarre, if not downright disgusting trend is sweeping through live music venues, where some fans are choosing to bypass the restroom in favor of, well, a more primal approach to maintaining their spot in the crowd. This unsettling reality was recently highlighted during a Devilskin concert in New Zealand, where one concertgoer was caught in a most unpleasant situation—literally! So, as we explore this head-scratching phenomenon, let’s dive into the world of concert culture and why some fans may be going to extremes to secure their front-row experience. LEARN MORE.

Considering how much it costs to go to a concert these days, the last thing you want is to have a c**p time.

However, that is literally proving to be the case for some gig-goers as part of a disturbing new trend where people are going to the bathroom without actually going to the bathroom to do it.

That’s right, as disturbing as it sounds, there have been a number of cases recently where someone has literally s**t on the floor, with Devilskin’s concert in New Zealand recently attracting viral attention for all the wrong reasons.

Gig-goer Damian Radburnd told Stuff that he and his fiancée were uncomfortably close to the action, and unfortunately it wasn’t the musical action.

“The guy who was directly in front of me proceeded to shake a log down his leg,” Damian explained, before saying that the moshpit pooper attempted to dispose of the evidence in a way that only made things worse

Damian said: “We shuffled to the side a metre or three, then I realised that I needed to alert security. One guard came over, and verified with me the culprit and saw the offensive material on the floor.”

Although on this occasion, the venue have confirmed that it was an unfortunate medical incident, it does seem to be part of a wider trend going on at music events across the world, where people are so desperate to keep their spots that they’re willing to do something they probably haven’t done since they were in nappies.

During a recent appearance on KISS Radio, Olivia Rodrigo admitted: “People wear diapers so that they can be front row. That’s been an experience as a performer that I’ve smelled.”

What better way to win the adoration of your number one favourite musician by doing a number two right in front of them eh? I miss when people used to have a sense of shame.

The problem is clearly getting too much for some artists, as Noah Kahan took to X to complain about people who aren’t taking the time to go to the bathroom during his shows.

He said: “If you have to poop at a show please dear god just go to the bathroom lmao. I’ve pooped my pants as much as the next 29-year-old but you guys gotta understand there’s a venue worker out there with a 1000 yard stare after dealing with that.”

“I s**t myself on stage in Charlottesville but that’s because I am dedicated to my craft”, he humorously added.

There has been a lot of discussion about the people who camp outside music venues the night before the gig just to get the best spot, and it seems as if it’s the same sort of people who are willing to put everything on the line to keep that spot.

While it’s sometimes a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see your favourite artist, you should always aim to show up showered and willing to go to the bathroom when you need it, otherwise you’ll always remember it for the wrong reasons, and the people around you won’t be too happy either.
