In a world where star-studded dramas often eclipse the music itself, it seems Usher and Chris Brown are stealing more than just the spotlight on their joint tour—allegations of backstage tensions surfaced after a heated argument in Atlanta last week! So, I can’t help but wonder, with all this celestial energy swirling around, is Mercury retrograde the true instigator behind their squabbles, or are our favorite R&B kings just feeling the strain of too much fame under one roof? As they take the stage at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the dynamic duo exhibits some interesting body language—a dash of distance during their performances that’s got fans buzzing. Are they just putting on a show for the audience, or is there more to their concert chemistry? Buckle up, as we dive into the latest in their musical journey, where emotions run high and the drama is as thick as the bass in their tracks!
Usher and Chris Brown have been having a very successful joint tour so far. But some alleged drama might start to get in the way. If it is, though, it doesn’t seem like the two will make it very apparent. After their alleged backstage argument in Atlanta on Thursday night (November 5), the two shared the stage (albeit from afar) for their second of five nights at Mercedes-Benz Stadium last night (Friday, November 6).
In a clip caught by diiito on Twitter, you can see the two performing the “Back To Sleep” remix from two different ends of the stage. According to TMZ, this distant staging is consistent with how they’ve performed this track so far on their joint trek. Also, they reportedly performed their “It Depends” remix as well.
This is notable because, during the first Atlanta night, they reportedly didn’t perform their tracks together. However, social media discussion is pointing to clips of Usher allegedly storming off backstage, Breezy’s Instagram comments under posts promoting the Usher shows, and more as alleged proof of their feud.
As for the reports on the matter, there are conflicting statements from TMZ about which artist allegedly wanted to wait fans to arrive at night one and which one wanted to keep the show going. Guests at night two reportedly included Bow Wow and Muni Long. This whole situation has also caused renewed discussion around Chris Brown and Usher’s previous alleged altercations.
For those unaware, Chris Brown and Usher’s alleged backstage argument allegedly caused the three-hour delay for the first Atlanta show. While it doesn’t seem like its second go-around faced these issues, TMZ reported heavy ego-clashing backstage as a source of tension.
But this joint performance of the “Back To Sleep” remix indicates that, if there really is any tension, they will keep the shows going as best they can. Still, fans continue to have questions about other missed duets and what the artists’ body languages indicate. The duo has three more nights in Atlanta (November 8, 10, and 11), representing the most stops at the venue by a tour in the stadium’s history.
