In regard to his alleged comment toward Lovitz, Dick said, “Maybe I started something that I meant as a joke and [Lovitz] just got really angry,” and recalled Lovitz throwing him against the wall.

Dick has never been formally accused of anything in regards to Hartman’s death, though Dick has a long and storied history of arrests and legal issues due to assault, sexual battery, and drug use.
