Dolly Parton’s sister isn’t having anyone joining what she calls a ‘stampede of endless misinformation’ on social media, and has released a statement to end it once and for all.
Stella Parton, Dolly’s younger sister, has been grieving along with the rest of the country music legend’s family after the news that the she had passed away was announced just over a week ago.
The ‘Queen of Country’s’ death at the age of 80 on Tuesday, August 25, after a ‘brief battle with cancer,’ per her representatives.
The 11-time Grammy winner was a one-of-a-kind in the music industry, and while she didn’t involve herself in controversy, it has sure found her after her passing.
For instance, her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame has had to be fixed after vandals targeted it. And that’s not all.

According to Stella, people have been using technology to stir up negativity, as the 77-year-old said she will be okay ‘in time’ after mourning her loss in her ‘own personal way.’
Taking to her personal Instagram account, the singer wrote of her sister and those who are talking about her: “Sadly, because of the way our lives have been lived in front of the public, we have no choice but to be subjected to incredible pressure and insensitivity from strangers.
She added: “There is a tremendous amount of AI and endless garbage being posted every day and it’s been challenging to absorb and ignore.”
“As time passes, those who are in the business of exploiting the loss and tragedies of others on a daily basis will move on to the next stampede of endless misinformation,” she added.
“We will be okay in time but each of us will grieve in our own personal way,” she wrote. “Every human being experiences pain and loss in life and my family is no different.”
Stella went on to write her ‘big sister Dolly would be surprised and delighted by the love her family and she has been shown during this time.’
“She loved her fans and the public in general,” she wrote. “That is the reason she chose not to express her opinions on a lot of things like politics, religion and individuals in the public eye.”
She then asked fans to ‘show more compassion and wisdom as we move forward in life.”
“Use my sister’s life as an example for tolerance and respect toward others,” she added. “It’s not about the most clever comments, fake AI garbage or snarky tweets.”
Stella concluded her statement with: “At the end of the day or the end of a life, how will you feel about yourself?”
Commenters have been quick to offer their support, with one fan writing: “I am so sorry for your entire families loss and in such a public way. I am also saddened by the fact that a family member need remind the public to be KIND in the wake of a family grieving. But it was expressed so eloquently and straight forward.
