The documents also list $0.88 in unclaimed property, while a roughly $300,000 IRA remains undistributed because Ledward says the brothers’ legal action blocked it.
The response further states that Simone voluntarily gave more than $300,000 of her own money to Derrick’s four children and distributed $150,000 in residual payments to Derrick and Kevin at their parents’ request.
The brothers, however, maintain that Ledward inherited 50% of the estate and that the other 50% was intended to go equally to Boseman’s parents.
Chadwick’s brothers are not only challenging Simone’s handling of the estate, but are also asking the court to remove her from her role entirely. Kevin and Derrick Boseman want someone else to take control of the remaining estate matters as the legal dispute continues.
The Blast reported that Kevin and Derrick Boseman asked the court to appoint attorney Jason Rubin as the new administrator. They also want the court to stop Simone from signing major estate-related contracts without the family’s approval and require her to provide copies of existing agreements.
The brothers have also asked the judge to order a full accounting of the estate and distribute whatever remains within 30 days. They also want the court to hold Simone in contempt for what they claim are violations of the 2022 distribution order, although the allegations remain unproven in court.
