The woman alleges that N.O.R.E., real name Victor Santiago, approached her and “committed an act of nonconsensual digital penetration.” She also alleges that Santiago was intoxicated at the time of the act.
Bryan went on to say that N.O.R.E. allegedly overpowered her, and that he only stopped when other people at the club pulled him off her.
“Santiago’s conduct constituted nonconsensual sexual contact, offensive touching, assault, battery, sexual assault, and gender-motivated violence,” the lawsuit says.
Later in the lawsuit, it was alleged that N.O.R.E. apologized to Bryan when he realized that she was Nas‘ partner and mother of his child. Bryan says this doesn’t excuse what N.O.R.E. allegedly did to her.
“No woman signs up to be assaulted. The assertion that an assault is excusable—or simply did not happen—because a perpetrator failed to recognize his victim strips women of their fundamental humanity,” Bryan’s attorney Marjorie Mesidor told Rolling Stone. Ms. Bryan is coming forward not only to demand accountability for the lasting trauma and public humiliation inflicted upon her, but to challenge the culture of entitlement that treats women’s bodies as collateral damage.”
Bryan later told Jay-Z about the situation. She says Hov wanted to confront N.O.R.E. about the situation, but she ultimately told him not to.
N.O.R.E. has not offered a statement in regards to this story, despite Rolling Stone’s attempts to get in touch.
