Is it just me, or is there something cosmic happening in the world of celebrity last names? With the moon in retrograde this week, it seems a certain family is feeling the effects more than others! Another fascinating twist in the Jolie-Pitt saga has emerged as Maddox Jolie-Pitt, the eldest son of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, decides to bid adieu to his father’s well-known surname. That’s right—Maddox is getting serious about his identity and has taken the brave step of seeking a legal name change to Maddox Chivan Jolie, making him the fourth member of the clan to drop “Pitt” from his name, after siblings Shiloh, Zahara, and Vivienne! Talk about a family reunion that’s turning into an exit strategy, huh? With the court filing marking a significant moment for Maddox, it’s worth pondering the question: just how much weight does a name carry, especially one laden with Hollywood baggage?
Another Jolie-Pitt child wants nothing to do with Brad Pitt‘s name!
The former couple’s eldest son now wants nothing to do with the actor’s famous last name and has approached the court to make his preference legally valid.
Maddox Jolie-Pitt has now become the fourth member of the brood to ditch Brad Pitt’s last name, trailing behind Shiloh Jolie, Zahara Jolie, and Vivienne Jolie.

The actor’s son beelined it to court to complete his bid to legally remove “Pitt” from his surname, asking that it be changed to Maddox Chivan Jolie. Maddox’s move comes shortly after he quietly dropped “Pitt” from his professional credits for his latest movie.
The eldest son of Angelina Jolie and Brad appeared as “Maddox Jolie” in the credits of Angelina’s upcoming film “Couture,” where he worked as an assistant director.
As stated by TMZ, although a judge has yet to approve Maddox’s request, the filing marks the clearest indication that he plans to permanently ditch the Pitt last name for good.
Angelina adopted Maddox from an orphanage in Cambodia in 2002, and Brad subsequently adopted him, along with Zahara, when they began dating.

Knoxx remains one of the former couple’s kids who has yet to drop the actor’s surname publicly or distance himself from his father in the same way as his siblings.
The Blast noted that Brad was equally absent from the 17-year-old’s recent Muay Thai competitions, which also fueled speculations that their relationship may have hit a rough patch.
As for Knoxx’s other sibling, Pax, his feelings towards Brad have not exactly been a secret, especially after he tagged the actor a “world-class a-shole” in a Father’s Day post.
As for Zahara, her decision to part ways with Brad’s famous last name came when she got into Spelman College, while Shiloh raced to court to drop Pitt from her name and stick with Jolie on her 18th birthday.
Vivienne chose not to use Pitt behind her name in the credits for a musical adaptation she worked on alongside her famous mother.

Brad’s strained relationship with his kids reportedly began in 2016 when they took their family’s private jet, and a fight broke out mid-air. At the time, the actor allegedly became aggressive, verbally and physically confronting members of his family, and even insulting Angelina in front of their children.
There were also reports of him physically confronting one of the children during the episode, although Brad has consistently denied the allegations of abuse. The actor’s divorce from Angelina further deepened the extent of the rot in their relationship.
Four of the couple’s grown children have publicly turned their backs on him, and there are reports he has not seen twins Knox and Vivienne, although they were once scheduled to have visitation rights.
However, a close friend of the actor recently cited what they call “a campaign of alienation” by Angelina as a major factor in the rupturing of Brad’s relationship with the kids. The actor is now totally cut off from the children, and it has been nothing short of a shattering experience for him.
Still, those close to Brad say he has not given up hope, claiming that he feels someday the family may be able to patch things up.

The “Fight Club” actor was noticeably absent as his daughter, Zahara, celebrated her college graduation earlier in the month. The rest of the family, including
Angelina, Zahara’s siblings, Maddox, Pax, Knox, Shiloh, and Vivienne attended the ceremony at Spelman College in Atlanta.
Angelina turned heads in a fashionable coat-and-heels combo as she proudly watched her daughter receive her degree in psychology and a minor in educational studies.
The Blast noted that another layer was added to the trending family narrative at the event when Zahara was announced during the ceremony as “Zahara Marley Jolie,” seemingly leaving out the Jolie-Pitt surname she was once known by.
The milestone marks the end of her journey at the prestigious historically Black college and the beginning of an exciting new chapter. While Brad’s absence did not overshadow the celebration, it came amid continued reports of estrangement between the actor and his children.

Three years ago, Zahara, who joined the family in 2005 debuted as the newest member as a new Alpha Kappa Alpha member. The sorority, regarded as the first historically black sorority, had Zahara embracing her famous mother’s last name.
Dressed in a black mini outfit paired with matching heels and a classic string of pearls, Zahara confidently delivered her introduction. The 21-year-old participated in the ceremony, marking her induction into the historic sorority, which is recognized as the first Black Greek-letter sorority.
The actress’s daughter has been attending Spelman College in Atlanta since 2022, where she has pursued her studies while largely staying out of the spotlight.
Will Brad Pitt react to this latest development?
