Let’s unpack this unfolding drama, and maybe even pull the tarot cards for a glimpse of what might be coming next… LEARN MORE.

Rick Devens has made some fantastic moves as the second Head of Household of Big Brother Season 28, but is he about to make a grave mistake?

After the Survivor alum won the Golden Power of Veto on Saturday, his decision seemed clear: He wanted to backdoor Rome and send him out of the game.

As of Monday morning, that was still the plan, but a lot had happened in the house since the Veto competition.

Lyric, who has been embroiled in a showmance with Rome, had been telling anyone who would listen that their relationship was over.

I’m surprised she managed to deliver that lie with a straight face because she and Rome were making out on the feeds on Sunday.

But it seems like Lyric’s story about being done with Rome has rubbed off on Rick.

The Survivor alum began entertaining the possibility of saving Lyric from the block and putting Rome up in her place.

This is a stupid plan.

Saving Lyric would give the showmance a better chance of remaining in the game, and you better believe they would target Rick the moment they inevitably got some shred of power.

Big Brother Just Switched Gears

Despite his initial plan to save Melody, Rick told his allies on Sunday evening that he was now planning to use the Power of Veto on Lyric and nominate Rome in her place.

No matter what happens, Lyric and Rome are a potentially strong duo who could make it deep into the game.

Melody, meanwhile, seemed far more likely to make a deal with Rick that could benefit them both, so I don’t understand why Rick thought saving Lyric was the better move.

His allies were against the plan, too, but as the day progressed, they decided to let him do as he pleased.

Either way, Rick, Dee, and Angela are probably the biggest targets in the house right now because it’s painfully obvious that they’re working together.

I don’t think it will take long for someone to take a shot at them, so they need to have as much power as possible to remain competitive.

Dee and Rick are competition beasts, but I’ve yet to see Angela perform particularly well in competitions, which could make Rick and Dee the bigger targets.

Angela has been cultivating connections with most of the other houseguests and even seemingly smoothed things over with Jason.

Did Rick Make a Mistake?

That could help keep her off the block.

When the feeds returned from Monday afternoon’s Veto meeting, Rick removed Lyric from the block and nominated Rome in her place.

The final nominees for this round are Jason, Melody, and Rome.
