Join me in exploring this delightful interview, where they not only roast each other but also reflect on the magic of storytelling and its importance in an age dominated by technology. Enid Blyton’s The Faraway Tree book series was published between 1939 and 1951 and became a staple of British childhood. With magical characters like Moon-Face and Silky the Fairy, the books encourage using your imagination. So it’s easy to see where this could come into play in a modern era where technology has taken the attention of so much of our youth. While I don’t think The Magic Faraway Tree fully takes advantage of that concept (you can check out my review HERE), I’m an American who never grew up with the series, so I was probably looking for something very different than those who did.

I had so much fun chatting with stars Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy about the film. They clearly had a ton of fun working together, and their unique chemistry comes across in the interview. They were very comfortable with ribbing each other and having a laugh. Having starred together previously in 2017’s Breathe, they get into whether or not that helped when building their chemistry for this film. I also spoke with director Ben Gregor about the challenges of bringing this magical world to life. These were great talks that you can check out in the embedded video above!
