"Adele’s Secret Return: What the Chart-Topping Diva is Planning Behind Closed Doors!"

Added on May 4, 2026 inFree Music News

In the cosmic dance of stardom, sometimes even the brightest stars need a pause—a moonlit break, if you will. As we journey through the celestial landscape of 2024, we find ourselves pondering the inner universe of Adele, who has recently retreated from the frenetic pulse of the music industry. With a heart that’s spent seven years sculpting a new life, she affirmed during her final Las Vegas show that her fans might not see her for “an incredibly long time.” What might the Taurus moon be whispering to her as she crafts a moment of stillness in her chart? Is it a call to delve deeper into personal aspirations, perhaps a hint towards motherhood, or a passion project like that English Literature degree? Join me as we unravel what the soulful singer has been up to in her quietude. LEARN MORE.

A new report has shed light on Adele’s life away from the spotlight, as the singer continues her extended break from music.

In 2024, the ‘Someone Like You’ hitmaker confirmed during her most recent run of live shows would be the last time fans saw her for a while, telling the crowd: “I will not see you for an incredibly long time. I just need a rest, I have spent the last seven years building a new life for myself, and I want to live it now.”

And just like that, after her final residency show in Las Vegas concluded, one of the most famous singers in the world vanished into thin air, with fans seeing nothing more of the 37-year-old than a handful of rare outings and appearances at basketball games.

So what is Adele actually up to?

A reported university degree

Numerous reports have sprung up in the months following the singer’s extended musical break, with MailOnline reporting that the 16-time Grammy-winning singer had opted to spend her downtime studying for an English Literature degree.

The outlet notes that Adele had previously dreamed of becoming a teacher before finding fame.

“If I hadn’t made it singing, I think I would be an English Lit teacher,” she previously told fans during a 2022 fan Q&A in Los Angeles, adding: “I definitely think I use my passion for English lit in what I do. I wish I’d gone to university and had that experience, but I will do it online with a tutor. That’s my plan for 2025, just to get the qualification.”

Although I’d hazard a guess the reported degree is more likely to be a passion project than a new career path, pursuing further education sounds like the perfect way to spend a career break when you’re a multi-millionaire singer.

Motherhood dreams

Prior to her hiatus, Adele revealed her hopes to have a second child.

The ‘Hello’ singer is already a mother to her 13-year-old son from her previous marriage to Simon Konecki, with the hitmaker revealing that she would love to also have a daughter.

“Once I’m done with all of my obligations and all of my shows, I want to have a baby,” she told the crowd at one of her shows in May 2024.

“And I want to have a girl because I’ve already got a boy. I feel like she might be the person I love the most in the world and I’ll probably hate the most in the world as well.”

Adele is currently in a relationship with sports agent Rich Paul, with the pair reportedly based in Los Angeles.

A return to music?

Despite telling German outlet ZDF that she wasn’t planning on creating music anytime soon, a recent report suggests that Adele could be back behind the mic sooner than we think.

According to The Sun, the singer is reportedly recording a new track for the upcoming film Cry to Heaven, which she was previously confirmed to be making her acting debut in.

Starring Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Colin Firth and Adolescence star Owen Cooper, the film is an adaptation of a 1982 Anne Rice novel and tells the story of Italian ‘castrati’, male singers who were castrated to preserve their high voices.
