In a world where basketball players are often hailed as kings and queens of the court, it seems that even a royal like LeBron James hasn’t ensnared everyone’s admiration. Cue the stars, because in a recent episode of “Watch What Happens Live,” none other than Gizelle Bryant from “Real Housewives of Potomac” threw some bold shade at the NBA superstar’s latest career move. I mean, have you ever wondered what happens when a basketball legend meets the glittery, drama-filled universe of reality TV? Well, I did—especially under the enigmatic influence of Libra season, where partnerships and balance take center stage. So, as the NBA gears up for another electrifying season starting October 20, let’s dive into the dialogue sparked by Bryant and sports analyst Jemele Hill, who insists LeBron is tragically underrated despite those championship rings. Let’s see if the stars align for the 76ers and if Gizelle’s critique holds any cosmic weight!
LeBron James may be the undisputed king of the NBA; however, “Real Housewives of Potomac” star Gizelle Bryant appears unmoved by that. During an episode of Andy Cohen‘s “Watch What Happens Live,” the reality star and mother of three told sports analyst and podcast host Jemele Hill that she wasn’t fond of LeBron’s latest career move.
A fan called into “WWHL” during last night’s October 18 episode and asked Hill which NBA and WNBA player she believes is most underrated.
Hill, who has worked for ESPN and The Atlantic, said Angel Reese is the most underrated WNBA player and cited her record-breaking third season with the Atlanta Dream.
For the NBA, Hill said LeBron is the most underrated, despite his 4 championship rings and legendary status. Hill pointed to his historic 24th season at 41 and his first with the Philadelphia 76ers.
“We have literally never seen this in the NBA,” Hill said. “It’s the age, and it’s the fact that he’s still a top 15 player, and that’s hard to be when you’re that age.”

Bryant, however, felt differently about Hill’s answer, shouting, “Absolutely not. Absolutely not,” before giving Hill the floor to finish.
When she wrapped up, Bryant acknowledged LeBron’s record-setting 24th season and his many accomplishments. But when it’s all said and done, she’s not fond of how he entered the new year.
“We would like for you to live wherever you play,” Bryant said boldly, adding that she had a problem with the superstar commuting from New York to Philadelphia.
According to a previous report from The Blast, LeBron will fly by helicopter from New York to Philadelphia for practice and games. Videos recently captured the basketball star getting into an aircraft while leaving a 76ers meeting, prompting strong responses.
One user called him a “dumb motherf-cker,” while another expressed concerns about frequent travel by air. “This is slightly ignorant to me considering how close he was with Kobe and knowing how dangerous this kind of constant travel can be,” they wrote.

Bryant’s comments come days before the new NBA season tips off on October 20. Before the season, LeBron announced he would sign with the 76ers after eight years and a championship ring with the Los Angeles Lakers.
He opened up about his decision on X (formerly Twitter), saying he seriously considered retirement but just wasn’t ready to step off the hardwood for good. “I still truly love this game, and I have more to give,” he told his millions of followers.
James signed a two-year, $8 million contract with the 76ers and called it his “last decision” on social media. “I’m not going for money. I’m not going for family. What am I really playing for at this point?” he asked.
“I still want to sacrifice. I still want to work. I still want to grind. I still want to compete, to win, and to have a chance at the feeling of winning.”
James spoke with the media about his new team just weeks ago during NBA Media Day and said he believes he still has more to give the league.
“I’ve seen everything that this league has to offer, on the floor and off the floor,” he said about his two-plus decades in the NBA.
He continued, “So, I hope that every single day, with my approach to the game, approach to the work, that it can translate to every single guy, and even guys that’s been able to win at the highest level. So, looking forward to that to that challenge.”

So, what’s next for LeBron and the 76ers? Their first game will be against the NBA’s reigning champs, the New York Knicks, on October 20. While James has high expectations for himself and his team, he acknowledged they might go through ups and downs early in the season.
“It’s going to take time. It’s going to take time. I think people, sometimes they don’t really want to work, and everyone wants like instant oatmeal,” he said. “In order for us to be great, we have to do things that are just not comfortable. We have to be comfortable being uncomfortable. That is the best way to expedite being great. You have to fall in love with doing things that’s uncomfortable, and if we can do that, then we can be a great team.”
