Tom Cruise has long been an icon of Hollywood, brought into the limelight through roles that showcase his daredevil antics. But have you ever pondered how the stars align with the choices he makes? In a delightful twist this season, it seems the cosmos echoes the playful side of Cruise, as he takes a step back from the action-packed exploits of the Mission: Impossible franchise to embrace some character-driven charm in Alejandro Iñárritu’s quirky comedy, Digger. This return invites us to reflect on his earlier works, like Jerry Maguire and Eyes Wide Shut, where he ventured into deeper emotional waters. And let’s not forget his rare foray into horror with Interview with the Vampire, a role that not only thrilled fans but also hinted at a darker side influenced by the astrological shifts of the past. With the film’s resurfacing on 4K Blu-ray, just in time for the spooky season, there’s no better occasion to revisit Louis de Pointe du Lac’s echoing tale of woe—and the undeniable magnetic pull of Lestat. Ready to sink your teeth into the details? LEARN MORE.

Tom Cruise

After decades of establishing himself as a next-level action star, Tom Cruise comes back to character work with Alejandro Iñárritu’s off-kilter comedy Digger. Before he became the daredevil we all know and love for the Mission: Impossible franchise, every now and then, Cruise would expand into facets of drama like Jerry Maguire or Eyes Wide Shut. This also includes his incredibly rare venture into horror with Interview with the Vampire from Neil Jordan, which also stars Brad Pitt, Christian Slater, Kirsten Dunst and Antonio Banderas. Yes, that’s right – long before Lestat became the center of AMC’s popular series (going into season four), Tom Cruise played Anne Rice’s infamous vampire.

Interview with the Vampire

Blu-ray.com is now reporting on Interview with the Vampire coming to 4K Blu-ray from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The 1994 film is set to hit retailers just before October (but spooky season comes earlier nowadays) on September 22.

The description reads,
“Against the backdrop of a gloomy San Francisco, the nearly two-century-old vampire, Louis de Pointe du Lac, recounts the unbelievable story of his eternal transformation and a life worse than death to the skeptic reporter, Daniel Molloy. Spanning two hundred years of cruel betrayals, extreme solitude, and unquenched thirst, Louis’ grimly fascinating tale pivots around his perpetually regrettable decision to embrace the dictatorship of blood, and, above all, his maker: the seductive blonde aristocrat of death, Lestat de Lioncourt. Is Louis’ mystical epic of bloodshed genuine? Is this, indeed, an interview with a vampire?”
