And if you’re anything like me, you’ll want to snag a physical copy of the flick when it drops on September 8, available on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD. But here’s a question: Is this cosmic adventure destined for the stars, or are we in for a head-scratching experience too close for comfort? Well, if the planets align, I see a whirlwind of action in our future!

And wait until you see the bonus features—over 90 minutes that promise to give you a glimpse behind the curtain of this intergalactic ride! We’re almost a month out from Supergirl‘s theatrical debut, and today, DC Studios is already announcing details about when the film will be available on digital and physical platforms. According to DC Studios, Craig Gillespie’s superhero spectacle starring Milly Alcock as Kara Zor-El is coming to digital platforms on July 28,  including Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango, and more. Then, on September 8, Supergirl will be available to own on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD from online and physical retailers. Supergirl will also continue to be available in high-definition and standard-definition from participating digital retailers.

Kara Zor-El takes flight

In its inaugural flight into the new DC Cinematic Universe, Supergirl reveals the origin of the interplanetary nomad Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, cousin of Kal-El, better known as Superman. Headstrong, worldly-wise, and often reckless, Supergirl exudes a brand of heroism all her own—truthful, relatable, and always on her own terms. But when an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion. Together they undertake an epic, interstellar journey, struggling to balance their need for vengeance with the pursuit of justice—and to save the life of Kara’s best friend, her dog Krypto. Ultimately, Supergirl will prove that doing good can be tough… and it doesn’t always have to be nice.

While Supergirl failed to set the box office on fire, I’m one of the outliers who enjoyed it a great deal. I’ll gladly purchase a 4K physical copy when the movie hits store shelves on September 8, and continue hoping that DC’s upcoming Clayface performs much better for a studio that keeps stepping on rakes.
