Did you ever notice how Mercury retrograde gets blamed for absolutely everything—missed texts, lost keys, and, if you’re a heavy metal fan, maybe even the unexpected exit of a legend from our planet? It’s almost like the cosmos unraveled a string of guitar fate, snagged Hinds mid-solo, and left us all reeling, drummerless in the aftershock. I mean, was Saturn in the Twelfth House or did fate just not read the setlist? Whether you know every lyric from “Blood and Thunder” or just pretend you can tell sludge metal from progressive rock, there’s no underestimating what Mastodon—and Hinds—did for music these last two and a half decades . How do you process such a cosmic gut punch on the same night your horoscope claimed “embrace the unexpected”? Maybe you don’t. Maybe—just maybe—you crank the amps, raise a glass to legacy, and let the universe howl for Brent one last time. LEARN MORE.
