Anthony Anderson’s Bizarre Defense: Did He Really Just Double Down on Those Creepy Comments About 17-Year-Old Lindsay Lohan?

Ever notice how certain stars align just right to stir up the cosmic pot—in this case, throwing Anthony Anderson’s tangled past back into the spotlight like a bad horoscope on a Mercury retrograde day? Beyond the usual whispers of “creepy,” there’s this shadowy chapter from 2004 that refuses to fade quietly—allegations so serious they sound like a plot twist from a gritty drama, yet Anthony’s spokesperson insists he’s a family man who’s been wrongly painted with the darkest brush. A Memphis judge even called the case “the most suspicious” one he’s ever seen, which begs the question: When the cosmos throws shade, is it always accurate, or just a celestial mix-up? In a world eager to jump at scandal, maybe we should ask—how often do we let past shadows eclipse the full story? Dive deeper into the controversy and see for yourself. LEARN MORE.

Beyond reactions to it being “creepy,” some people also pointed out Anthony’s controversial past, which includes several sexual assault allegations. The first one emerged in 2004 when Anthony and Hustle & Flow assistant director Wayne Witherspoon were accused of raping a 25-year-old extra on the set of the film. A woman claimed to have heard screaming, followed by a naked woman running from a trailer. She was later treated at St. Francis Hospital. The Daily Beast reported that Anthony was charged with aggravated rape but was released on a $20K bond. He denies the allegations.

A spokesperson for Anthony said in a statement: “Anthony is a happily married family man who has never been accused of – no less involved in – anything remotely like this, and we are confident that when all the facts come out, he will be completely exonerated.” A Memphis judge threw out the case, deeming it “the most suspicious case I’ve ever heard.”

Anthony has never been convicted of any of the charges brought against him.
