Jordyn Woods knew exactly what she wanted when her NBA champion partner, Karl-Anthony Towns, proposed to her in December 2025. The pair began dating in May 2020, and over the years, have spoken openly about how their relationship developed into something romantic after years of friendship.

Speaking with Vogue, Towns reflected on his proposal to the fashion influencer in December 2025. He told the outlet that Woods, 28, had one fashion rule for the New York Knicks star, and it had everything to do with her hair.
“None of us had any clue,” Woods shared. “But Karl kept asking if I’d had my hair done.” Towns said Woods always told him that if he ever proposed, he would need to make sure her hair was done.
Woods, however, had a feeling that something special was coming. “I’m a very intuitive person, so my antenna was up,” she said. “I wore a white dress that I had, and the proposal was very personal. I tend to be very shy, and he knew exactly what was perfect.”
Woods and Towns’ engagement broke the internet last year, according to The Blast. Social media pictures showed the New York Knicks star getting down on one knee and popping the big question.
Celebrities loved the special moment, including WNBA All-Star Angel Reese and MTV staple Kamie Crawford. Woods’ years-long best friend, Kylie Jenner, also commented, followed by supermodel Bella Hadid and R&B singer Chloe Bailey.
Woods was overcome with emotion following the special moment, thanking everybody for their support in a separate Instagram post. “I’m overwhelmed with all of the kind messages, love you guys!!!!” she wrote.

Elsewhere during Woods and Towns’ joint interview with Vogue, the two superstars revealed more about the engagement, including Woods’ ring, which the 7-foot athlete designed himself.
“I originally wanted a totally different cut,” Woods said. “But he went with an emerald-cut diamond. Now I can’t imagine having anything else.”
Woods’ flashy diamond features pink diamonds down the band and has both of their deceased parents’ birthstones alongside theirs on each side. On the inside, the ring says, “I love you, my heart,” in Spanish, written in Towns’ handwriting. “The ring looks like a glacier on her finger,” he said.

Towns and Woods began dating in 2020 after several years of friendship. Woods previously said their relationship was founded on “trust,” noting that they’ve seen each other through some of the most challenging times of their lives.
In April 2026, Towns opened up about their bond after winning his first NBA championship, saying Woods’ presence in his life helped power him past the finish line.
“You always pray you’re going to pick the right woman for you, and I know I did in my fiancée,” he said. “It’s crazy, when she passed, there was so much turmoil in my life. Funny enough, my fiancée was the one who was a friend at the time, was the only person I got to call before I had to go out there and say bye to her at the hospital.”
Woods and Towns recently married on Saturday, August 15. In a behind-the-scenes video with Vogue, Woods detailed her three wedding gowns, designed by Danielle Frankel.
The first gown, which Woods wore for the ceremony, was a strapless silk gown with lace detailing and a lace neck scarf. “The design intention was there from the beginning and the get-go,” Frankel said before Woods added, “She was adamant about that being smooth in the stomach area and getting the ruching perfect. And you have to let the artist be the artist.”
Woods’ second gown was a strapless lace skirt, which Frankel said came about by accident. “I asked Jordyn to just lift one side so I could see what was going on under the dress,” she said. “And as she was holding it here, the gown draped so beautifully. I said, ‘Hold it there.’ We pinned it in place, and that’s literally what happened.”
The third and final dress was a silk column dress with a low back and silk scarf. “All of the hard work, all of the seamstress, Danielle, the creativity, it’s just, one, so inspiring,” Woods said.
