The widow of Charlie Kirk has shared a heartwrenching note from her late husband, as well as one final wish, just a month after he was shot dead while debating students at Utah Valley University.

It was on September 10 when Kirk was fatally shot while debating students in Utah. His suspected assassin, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, has since been charged with seven offences, including aggravated murder and obstruction of justice.

Over a month on, Kirk’s widow has shared an intimate note he wrote on Instagram, with her saying her slain husband, the founder of Trump-aligned Turning Points USA (TPUSA), would write her a love letter every Saturday while enjoying a relaxed Sabbath.

Scrawled in black handwriting, the note from 31-year-old Kirk reveals the tenderness and intimacy he practised at home, in contrast to his often fiery and confrontational public persona.

Despite living with a packed schedule of college campus debates and Republican campaigning events across the nation, Kirk seemingly always made time to appreciate his wife with a romantic letter.

In her post, Erika, 36, penned: “He never missed one. I share this with you… not to make anyone feel like they need to do the same for their spouse, but to encourage you. To show that when your husband loves you as Christ loved the church you have a deeper respect for him, a deeper love.”

The final love note left for Erika by deeply religious Kirk reads: “Oh Jesus is so inspiring and uplifting. I am so thrilled to be on this journey with you. I am humbled by God’s grace and passion for TPUSA, and also for our lives.”

After sharing his thoughts about his organization, he turns to his wife and his country, as he appears to write: “As you like to say ‘This is not normal!’ Boy is that right! I am so touched by your support of my mission and my dreams.

“I pray God saves America and that we can play a small role in this in some way. I know things can get very hard with kids at home but you do an amazing job balancing it.

“I am so in love with you and want to serve you in any way I can. I love you!”

Following the death of Kirk, Erika has been announced as Turning Points USA’s new leader. However, the former Miss Arizona received online backlash for her glamorous and public displays of grieving – including her appearance at Kirk’s memorial service at State Farm Stadium in Arizona, where she stood by President Donald Trump.

Erika addressed this on Saturday by telling the public: “There is no linear blueprint for grief,” something she further stressed when sharing the love note by telling her fans on Instagram: “I share this with you not to prove a point.

“So I share this in hopes that today, husbands are encouraged to be even better husbands and wives are encouraged to be even better wives.

“I’d give anything to have a Saturday breakfast with my husband asking how we can better serve one another for the week ahead…so if you’re reading this, and you have that blessing, please take advantage of it for me.”
