King Charles is reportedly disappointed that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s return to the UK has not resulted in as much time with his grandchildren as he had hoped.

A royal source claims the monarch expected to reconnect more regularly with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet but has been left waiting for another visit to be arranged.

King Charles was said to be looking forward to spending more time with Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, following the Sussexes’ return to Britain.

However, according to a royal insider quoted by Star Magazine, the monarch has not seen the children as often as he anticipated.

“Charles absolutely loves being a grandfather; he may not have always been the best father, but he’s really taken to his role as a grandad, so he’s pretty gutted he hasn’t even seen Archie and Lili more since they landed in the UK,” the source said.

The insider claimed the King had expected the family to make up for lost time but had instead encountered delays in arranging further visits.

“Here he was expecting that they’d be getting straight into making up for lost time, and it’s been quite the opposite,” the source added.

The report also alleged that Harry had assured his father another visit would happen soon. However, a date has not been finalized: “Harry keeps promising him that the visit will happen very soon but so far there’s been no date set and Charles is feeling very let down.”

“Meghan will have to join them, so it needs to align with her schedule,” the insider explained. “It has to work with the kids’ school schedules, with Harry’s schedule and, of course, with Charles and Camilla’s too.”
