Olivier Martinez accused Halle Berry of physically abusing Maceo during a September 26 incident. The estranged couple has been dealing with custody disagreements for years since ending their marriage in 2015. Their divorce was not finalized in 2023.
Berry, 60, was spotted at Sky Zone in Los Angeles on Sunday, October 4. She was there with Maceo and her fiancé, musician Van Hunt. Berry and Hunt watched from the venue while Maceo played indoor soccer.
An eyewitness said Berry and Maceo chatted before he started playing. Berry reportedly kept a low profile by sitting with her back toward the central area of the venue. She and Hunt mostly looked at their phones and occasionally chatted.
One fan reportedly approached Berry and asked for a selfie during the outing. She is said to have turned him down politely, explaining that she was with her son. The eyewitness also described Berry’s energy as “pretty subdued.”
The outing happened just days after Martinez obtained a temporary restraining order against Berry. The order currently limits her visits with Maceo to Mondays and Tuesdays, and Saturdays and Sundays, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. PEOPLE reported that the restrictions are in place ahead of the October 16 hearing.
Martinez was granted the temporary restraining order on October 1. The order changed the former couple’s previous joint legal custody arrangement. The judge did not grant Martinez’s request to completely prevent Berry from having contact with their son.

Martinez said Hunt treated the 12-year-old fairly and helped him pack his belongings. As reported by The Blast, court documents obtained by the Daily Mail contained Martinez’s account of the September 26 incident.
He claimed Maceo called him “frantic” afterward and asked him to come and pick him up “right now.” Martinez said he then contacted Berry about collecting their son.
Martinez alleged that the mom objected and said, “No, I’m not ok with it. He wants to fight his mother?? What kind of kid are we raising?” He also claimed she later told Maceo, “Good. Good. I don’t want to see you anymore,” after the boy allegedly said he planned to “leave forever.” Berry has denied the allegations.
Berry was ordered to pay Martinez $8,000 a month in child support. She is also responsible for Maceo’s private school tuition, health insurance, and therapy. Under the agreement, she must additionally pay Martinez 4.3% of any annual income above $2 million for their son’s general upkeep.
A source close to Berry said she feels like an “ATM” when dealing with Maceo and Martinez. She reportedly feels she gets “zero respect” and is only expected to “pay, pay, pay.” The source also said Berry believes the situation has become increasingly stressful for her.
