Why would a significant keepsake vanish in the wake of a tragic loss? And could it be that the stars have even more to say about this peculiar turn of events in her life’s final act? All of this and more beckons us to untangle the threads of speculation surrounding her last days and the priceless items that forged lasting connections in her life.
Questions surrounding Hayden Panettiere‘s final days have continued to emerge weeks after her sudden death at 36.
As her loved ones grieve and work through all she left behind, attention has now turned to some of the personal belongings that meant the most to the actress.
One particular item, Hayden Panettiere’s engagement ring from her ex-fiancé Wladimir Klitschko, is reportedly missing, sparking concern among those closest to her about the days leading up to her death.

Panettiere held on to the engagement ring Klitschko gave her even after their relationship ended in 2018. However, weeks after her passing, her family and friends have been unable to find the ring.
“Hayden’s engagement ring from Wlad that she’s held onto for all this time is missing,” a source told Us Weekly.
“Friends and family think that someone who was with her in her final days took it when they were pawning her things,” the source added.
The Montblanc ring was said to be worth about $500,000 and was created with Panettiere’s input. The actress previously explained that she had been involved in shaping its design, telling E! News in 2013, “I told them my idea over time and tweaking things here and there, it came to fruition.”
Its disappearance carries a huge significance because Panettiere had kept it long after ending her engagement to Klitschko, with whom she shared a daughter, Kaya.

Panettiere was staying at an Airbnb in South Carolina with Brian Hickerson and his brother, Zach, around the time of her death on August 16.
Police responded after receiving a 911 call concerning the actress, who was found unresponsive.
According to the Daily Mail, Zach told the police that Hickerson had been sleeping in another room before Panettiere was discovered unresponsive in a chair.
Zach said Hickerson gave Panettiere Narcan while they attempted CPR and communicated with emergency responders. Narcan, which can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose, was also found on a mattress inside the loft apartment.
Panettiere eventually died after suffering cardiac arrest following an accidental overdose. The circumstances surrounding the Airbnb have since received additional scrutiny as questions have emerged about some of her belongings.

Following Panettiere’s death, Klitschko publicly mourned his former fiancée and reflected on the bond they continued to share through their daughter.
“Our family is going through a time of profound shock and grief,” the former boxer wrote on Instagram. He described Panettiere as an important part of his life despite their relationship having ended, adding, “She left this world far too soon.”
Klitschko also acknowledged the highs and difficulties Panettiere experienced throughout her career. “Nothing will erase the times we shared or the place she had in our lives,” he wrote before ending his message with, “Rest easy, Hayden. May you find eternal peace.”
He paid tribute again on August 21, what would have been Panettiere’s 37th birthday. Rather than focusing solely on their loss, Klitschko encouraged others to show compassion to those around them, writing, “Be Kind. Love is a superpower. Use it.”

Klitschko has since taken legal steps concerning Panettiere’s estate and their 11-year-old daughter. On September 24, he filed a petition seeking to serve as temporary guardian of the estate on Kaya’s behalf. People Magazine reported that Kaya is her mother’s sole beneficiary.
Court documents state that Klitschko wants the matter handled “immediately” so he can move forward with Panettiere’s probate proceedings and nominate an administrator. He warned there was a “high probability” that property could be “lost, damaged or dissipated” without someone legally empowered to protect it.
Klitschko’s filing also claims Panettiere had hired security before her death after concerns that someone had gained unauthorized access to her property. Klitschko said locks were changed and some valuables moved for protection.
The filing further alleges that jewelry and other belongings have either disappeared or cannot currently be accounted for. All Klitschko wants is to safeguard Hayden’s property and make sure that Kaya is not robbed of her inheritance.

Concerns surrounding the missing engagement ring also echo allegations recently made by Panettiere’s mother, Lesley Vogel, about Hickerson and some of her daughter’s other possessions.
In an interview with The New York Times, Vogel alleged that Hickerson pawned belongings belonging to Panettiere, including a vintage guitar.
She also claimed her daughter was “shocked” after discovering that Hickerson had a storage unit where he kept some of her belongings.
Hickerson has not directly addressed the claims about the belongings and has yet to officially speak on the death of Panettiere.
