Angel confirmed her pregnancy in an interview with PEOPLE, opening up about the different experiences behind her two pregnancies. The couple conceived Harper naturally. When they decided to have another child, however, they learned that expanding their family would require fertility treatment.

“We were fortunate to get pregnant naturally with [seven-year-old daughter] Harper,” she said. “But when we decided we wanted another baby, we discovered that IVF was the only option for us.”

Angel described the experience as a “long journey” that ultimately led to their pregnancy announcement. “We chose to take that leap, and we’re so grateful for where that journey has brought us.”

Their son is due in March, giving Harper a younger brother and the couple a new addition to their household. Angel also shared how the news was received by her older brother, Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter.

Angel said Nick was especially happy when he learned that she and Corey were expecting a son. “Nick was particularly excited when we found out we were having a baby boy. It was such a sweet moment seeing how happy he was.”

Nick and Angel are the surviving members of the five Carter siblings who appeared together on the family’s reality series, “House of Carters.” Their family has lost three siblings since 2012, including Angel’s twin brother, Aaron, in 2022. Bobbie Jean died the following year.

While discussing her pregnancy, Angel also addressed how those losses will remain part of the family’s conversations as her children grow up. She wants them to learn about their relatives and the place each held in her life, with the details of those conversations changing as they get older.

Angel Wants Her Children To Know Her Late Siblings

Angel said preserving her siblings’ memories means making room for her children to understand who they were. “Keeping the memory of all of my siblings alive as we grow our family means creating a healthy space for our children to know who they were and understand how much they mattered to us,” she said.

She also discussed how she plans to approach the more difficult parts of their stories with Harper and her future son. “As they get older, those conversations will become more age-appropriate, and they’ll learn more about their stories. I hope they can learn from the tragedies in our family and see how their parents chose to find good in something incredibly painful,” she told the outlet.

Angel has spoken publicly about her grief and her siblings’ struggles with addiction. She said people have contacted her to share how those conversations affected their own decisions to seek support. “Since Aaron died, so many people reached out to tell me they checked themselves into rehab, started therapy, sought mental health support, or simply felt less alone,” Angel said.

Leslie Carter died in 2012 at age 25 following an overdose. A decade later, Aaron was found dead in a bathtub at his home in Lancaster, California, on November 5, 2022. He was 34. His death was attributed to drowning following the effects of inhaling difluoroethane and taking alprazolam, the medication sold under the brand name Xanax. Aaron left behind his young son, Prince, whom he shared with his fiancée, Melanie Martin.

Bobbie Jean Carter died in 2023 at age 41. Her cause of death was listed as “intoxication due to the combined effects of fentanyl and methamphetamine.”

Angel’s pregnancy announcement comes as she continues discussing those losses publicly and preparing to introduce another child to the family.
