If you’ve ever spun Blink-182’s Enema of the State, chances are you remember that cheeky nurse on the cover — red bra, sky-blue glove, and enough makeup to stop traffic. It’s wild to think this 1999 punk-pop gem still reigns as their best-seller, rocking 15 million copies worldwide some 26 years later. But here’s a question to ponder while Mercury dashes retrograde: Who exactly is that enigmatic nurse, and how has she morphed over two decades under the stars? Spoiler alert: she’s none other than Janine Lindemulder, a former adult film star whose life twists rival the fiercest planetary alignments. From cover model to OnlyFans creator, with a surprising detour into teaching kids and even a stint behind bars—her story is a cosmic rollercoaster that’s both intriguing and unexpected. Trust me, the universe’s plan for her journey is just as captivating as the album’s anthems. LEARN MORE
If you’re a Blink-182 fan, you’ll likely know the cover of the band’s Enema of the State album, which features a woman dressed in a nurse’s outfit, wearing a red bra, blue latex glove, bright blue eyeshadow and striking red lipstick.
The album dates back to 1999, and 26 years later, it remains the most popular album the band has released, selling 15 million copies globally.
Just like the songs included in the record – such as ‘What’s My Age Again?’ and ‘All the Small Things’ – the cover is considered iconic – but who is the woman on the cover?
The ‘nurse’ on the album is former adult film star Janine Lindemulder, and on the back of the record, band members Travis Barker, Mark Hoppus and Tom DeLonge can be seen standing before the model in their boxers.
Over two decades since the album’s release, Lindemulder looks totally different.

In fact, she’s now got a completely different colour hair and plenty more tattoos; meanwhile, she’s carved out a different career.
Not only does Lindemulder have a pretty big presence on social media, but she also has an OnlyFans page, which she started in 2017.
Subscribing to her page will cost around $10 (£7.35) per month, as her bio on the 18+ site reads: “Penthouse Pet ’87, Vivid girl, AVN Hall of Fame, Blink-182 cover model, multiple award winner including Best G/G and B/G.”
While she was inducted into the Adult Video News Hall of Fame in 2002, Lindemulder had actually retired from the industry three years before, as she’d wanted to become a kindergarten teacher.
But by 2004, she rejoined the industry, making several films with several different porn studios.

This also coincided with some changes in her personal life. After marrying West Coast Choppers founder Jesse James in 2002, the pair had a daughter together before divorcing two years later.
Lindemulder also served six months behind bars after failing to pay $300,000 in taxes in 2008.
Meanwhile, photographer David Goldman spoke about the iconic cover, explaining the glove was inspired by the album’s original title.
“Up until the very last minute, the album was going to be called Turn Your Head and Cough,” he told Huffington Post. “And that’s why I came up with the idea of the glove. Obviously an enema is not really a glove type of thing. I thought it was a good visual.”
Speaking about whether shooting the cover did much for his career, he said: “To be totally honest, it didn’t have the effect I thought it would.
“You always think there’s going to be one thing that you blow up from, but that didn’t really happen. It was just another good thing that happened, and it went in my book.”
