So, Jimmy Kimmel’s talk show just got yanked off the air indefinitely — talk about Mercury retrograde wreaking havoc on communication, huh? The 57-year-old late-night host stirred the pot with some bold commentary on the recent, tragic shooting of Charlie Kirk, poking fun at Donald Trump’s, let’s say, unique way of “mourning.” Classic Kimmel, diving headfirst into political muck during his monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live! But turns out, the consequences landed hard, leading ABC to pull the plug — and Trump’s been crowing about it on social media like he snagged a cosmic win. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, some texts between Kimmel and his old pal Adam Carolla have surfaced, revealing a surprisingly candid glimpse into what Kimmel’s feeling amid this chaos. Is this just a rough patch, or is the universe sending Kimmel a not-so-subtle nudge to rethink his approach? Whatever the stars have in store, this drama’s got more twists than a Scorpio’s secret diary. LEARN MORE.
A number of texts sent from Jimmy Kimmel to Adam Carolla have been revealed following the suspension of his talk show.
In case you missed it, long-time talk show host and comedian Jimmy Kimmel was taken off the air ‘indefinitely’ after the comments he made about the Charlie Kirk shooting and Donald Trump.
The 57-year-old was carrying out his opening monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and ventured into recent politics, as he has done in the past.
But this time, Kimmel specifically brought up the recent assassination of the right-wing political activist and joked about Trump’s reaction to the news.
Kirk was fatally shot in the neck at a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University on 10 September, though Kimmel suggested that the ‘MAGA gang’ used the incident as a chance to ‘score political points’.

Kimmel also jokingly shared a clip of Trump being asked about how he was doing after Kirk’s shooting, with the 79-year-old responding by pointing out the ongoing construction for the new White House ballroom, as the comedian pointed out: “Yes, he’s at the fourth stage of grief: Construction.”
He even quipped that this isn’t how a normal person grieves, saying that ‘this is how a four-year-old mourns a goldfish’.
Following this, an ABC spokesperson said that the show would be ‘preempted indefinitely’, prompting Trump to celebrate his removal on social media.
The 57-year-old hasn’t publicly responded to the show’s suspension, though texts from Kimmel to his former The Man Show co-host, Adam Carolla, have now been revealed.
The latter said he reached out to the comedian and spoke yesterday (18 September) on The Adam Carolla Show about what he supposedly thinks about the situation.
Kimmel said ‘Wow, it’s strange times out here,’ according to Carolla, when he asked about the recent turn of events.
He explained: “I just sent him a text because you want to be on record as understanding or knowing or whatever. It just said, you know, ‘Thinking about you. I hope you’re okay’.”

Despite reassuring Kimmel that he didn’t ‘need to reply’ and not expecting one at all, Kimmel responded seconds later by saying that ‘(replying) is what Jimmy does’.
He also wrote: “I’m being followed by a helicopter.”
Fans of Kimmel have been quick to point out the criticisms from Trump in recent days, though, recalling a speech from his inauguration where he spoke of the ‘illegal and unconstitutional federal efforts to limit free expression’.
The President even vowed to sign an executive order to ‘immediately stop all government censorship and bring back free speech to America’, despite many claiming that the move to remove Kimmel and support the decision is actually an infringement on the freedom of speech.
Trump even spoke about removing the rights of certain people to speak about him in the media on his visit to the UK, saying: “I have read some place that the networks were 97 percent against me, again, 97 percent negative, and yet I won, and easily [in last year’s election].”
“They give me only bad publicity [and] press. I mean, they’re getting a licence. I would think maybe their licence should be taken away.”
LADbible Group has contacted Kimmel’s representatives for comment.
