Ana Navarro has opened up about how she lost weight after saying that she lost the equivalent of a ‘baby hippo’.
Navarro appeared on the 30th anniversary season debut of The View, which she has guest-hosted since 2013, where she looked at a throwback picture of herself from before her weight loss in 2022.
While examining the pictures, she said: “Those were all pre-Mounjaro,” jokingly adding: “We’ve lost the equivalent of a baby hippo on that stage.”
Navarro has previously spoken about her weight loss journey, opening up about her use of GLP-1 medication to help with losing weight.
While some brands of GLP-1 were initially licensed for treating diabetes, the effect that they have in helping people feel fuller after less food means that combined with diet and exercise they can be a great help in supporting weight loss.
The drugs have exploded in popularity since then for this reason, with many celebrities, including Navarro, opening up about using them.

For her part, Navarro has previously also spoken about sticking to a Mediterranean diet, claiming that this helped her to maintain her weight while she was off in Greece on a summer holiday.
Speaking in a video diary which she shared to her Instagram page, she said: “There’s something to be said for the Mediterranean diet of fresh fruits, vegetables, nuts and grilled meats.
“I haven’t seen a pancake in a month. The diet there has much less processed sugar and preservatives. I’m a convert.”
Later, she would respond publicly to speculation from her fans that she had been using GLP-1 medication.
Navarro shared a series of pictures on her social media page from a trip to Colombia, PEOPLE reported, writing: “Last August, I went to a wellness spa in Mexico called @rancholapuerta with two of my friends since grade school. We had all turned 50 and wanted to be healthier.
“So it’s been a complete lifestyle change—except for the damn rosé and margaritas, which I can’t give up. It has all helped me lose about 4-5 lbs a month.”

She said that the time: “I spent time there learning to cook and eat healthier, reprogramming the way I think of my lifestyle, and being more active.
“We did all sorts of exercise classes for hours a day. When we came back to Miami, we were determined to continue some of our healthy habits.”
While she said that she is trying to make changes on top of using the GLP-1 medication, Navarro said that there are still some things that she enjoys.
“We all have to figure out what works for each of us,” she said. “It is a daily struggle for me. I still really like tequila and staying in bed with my poodle….”
Navarro is not the only host of The View to have used GLP-1 medication, with her co-host Whoopi Goldberg also revealing that she has used the medication.
“I had taken all those steroids, I was on all this stuff,” said Goldberg, “and one of the things that’s helped me drop the weight is the Mounjaro – that’s what I use.”
