Drew Carey, the beloved host of “The Price Is Right,” is stepping into the spotlight with some fiery words about Spencer Pratt and his mayoral aspirations! Can you believe it? In a world where every celebrity seems to be running for office, Carey isn’t holding back. He took to social media—because where else do we go to air our grievances these days?—to call Pratt a “serial scammer” and suggest voters think twice before backing the former “Hills” star. Now, with Mercury in retrograde stirring up communication chaos, it’s no wonder tempers are flaring! Carey’s passionate outburst begs the question: should celebrities really be mixing politics with their stardom? After all, who knew the road to City Hall could be paved with such… dramatic twists?
Drew Carey is making it crystal clear where he stands when it comes to Spencer Pratt’s political ambitions. The “Price Is Right” host publicly slammed Pratt in a fiery social media post Friday, unleashing on the former reality star as his campaign for Los Angeles mayor continues gaining attention. Drew Carey didn’t hold back, calling Pratt a “serial scammer” and urging voters to think twice before backing the former “Hills” personality.

Carey took to Threads to sound off on Pratt, who is currently running for mayor of Los Angeles. The comedian and television host appeared frustrated by growing support for Pratt’s campaign and made his feelings known in blunt fashion. “Anyone who votes for, or endorses Spencer Prattfall for Mayor of LA needs to get their head out of their a-s,” Carey wrote.
“I understand being angry/unsatisfied, but at least get behind someone competent and not some serial scammer without a soul or moral compass,” he continued. “F-ck this guy already.”
Carey, who previously served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve during the 1980s, has never been shy about speaking publicly on political or celebrity-related issues.

Pratt officially launched his bid for Los Angeles mayor in January during a They Let Us Burn rally in Pacific Palisades. The announcement came exactly one year after Pratt and his wife, Heidi Montag, lost their home in the devastating Los Angeles wildfires.
Pratt has described himself as an “independent community advocate,” despite reportedly being a registered Republican. His campaign has reportedly seen a recent surge in donations, placing him closer to incumbent mayor Karen Bass and other candidates in the race.
President Donald Trump also recently praised Pratt while speaking to reporters. “I’d like to see him do well,” Trump said. “He’s a character. I assume he probably supports me. I heard he does [support me]. I heard he’s a big MAGA person. He’s doing well.”

Carey’s blunt remarks quickly sparked mixed reactions online. Some users applauded the television host for publicly criticizing Pratt’s campaign. “Thank you, Drew. I can’t believe people want this man as mayor of one of the biggest cities in our country,” one supporter wrote.
Others, however, pushed back on Carey’s tone and argued voters should decide for themselves. “There is documentation of me never having to add Drew to the Spencer Pratt endorsement list,” true crime podcast host Heather Ashley joked.
“Let the voters decide. Stop being a bully and respect people’s decisions,” another person responded. “You don’t have to hate him just to prove you’re liberal. How about criticizing his policies?” someone else added.
One user responded, “So you’re gonna vote for Bass again, who has literally destroyed the city,” while another wrote, “And you want to vote for Karen Bass?? But then you wanted Kamala Harris for president so I get it.”

The heated reaction also comes after Pratt made headlines for saying he may leave Los Angeles if he loses the mayoral race. Speaking to comedian Adam Carolla, Pratt claimed he would consider relocating his family elsewhere if current city leadership remains in place. “If Karen Bass gets re-elected, or Nithya [Raman] gets elected, I will be done with trying to live in Los Angeles,” Pratt said.
The former reality star also criticized conditions in the city while discussing what he called “the last American dream.” “I’ll take that money from the [Gov. Gavin] Newsom state park and the LADWP, and I’ll go find somewhere that my kids will not have to see naked zombies and I can have the last American dream somewhere,” he said. “I will not rebuild if these people are in charge. Because what would I be putting money into?”

Pratt’s political frustrations appear tied closely to the devastating wildfire that destroyed his family’s home. In 2025, Pratt and his wife, Heidi Montag, filed a lawsuit against the city of Los Angeles and the Department of Water and Power after losing their Pacific Palisades home in a fire.
The reality TV couple has been outspoken about their frustrations ever since, with Pratt now turning that anger into a full-fledged political campaign.
