The actress mentioned her mother in her memoir and their tense relationship, which ended in a cycle of estrangement that has lasted for a while.
Hayden Panettiere, who became a familiar face on television at a very tender age, recalled that she was given the responsibility to become a provider for the family at a young age.
The actress’s estranged mother spoke out against her confession in the soon-to-be-released memoir, accusing her daughter of causing years of emotional pain.
Vogel suggested that the actress’s book was written for publicity, rather than healing, adding that she has “20 years of trauma” to show for it.
Vogel criticized the book “This Is Me: A Reckoning” by identifying a behavioral pattern centered around control, entitlement, and a lack of compassion for others in her daughter.
She continued that people with that type of personality are often deeply afraid of being exposed for who they truly are behind the image they publicly exhibit.
The actress’s mother claimed that she eventually decided to stop all communication with Panettiere after years of trying to support and encourage her, emphasizing that nothing she did ever seemed sufficient.

As she breezed into her 30s, the actress spoke about experiencing a new lease of life after overcoming her alcohol and opioid addiction.
She used the 12-step program to overcome her dependency alongside an abstinence philosophy, which helps people with an addiction get back to a life void of their vices.
The Blast shared that she had an episode with alcohol dependency while on the 2012 drama “Nashville” and then advanced to using painkillers after giving birth in 2014.
Unfortunately, she slipped into postpartum depression after welcoming a daughter with ex-Wladimir Klitschko.
“I was being told how to be and how to live by so many people in my life. I wanted certain decisions to be my own, and nobody could stop me. What I put in my body was like an act of defiance,” the actress confessed.
She added that alcohol often made her feel better at that moment, but it leaves the victim feeling so much worse the next day, with a desire to do it all over again.
The actress and her former partner, Brian Hickerson, were involved in an off-and-on romance between 2018 and 2022, alongside multiple instances of domestic violence. Hickerson hopped on a virtual interview about Panettiere’s new memoir and their relationship.
He admitted that since their split, he had been considering reuniting with the actress, who is one of the most talented people he has ever met in his life.
Hickerson admitted that despite their split, he misses her every day, but also understands that they might not be a good match romantically.
Hickerson continued that he also played a role in their breakup because he was in such a dark place where he consumed alcohol, drugs, and legal drama, which came with jail time, probation, and a restraining order.
