Longtime ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith is stirring the pot once again, and this time, it’s over how Megan Thee Stallion handled her breakup with NBA star Klay Thompson. On a recent episode of his podcast, “Straight Shooter with Stephen A,” he didn’t hold back, criticizing the rapper for publicly airing her ex-boyfriend’s dirty laundry. I mean, come on, folks, when did it become trendy to spill the tea on your ex in front of millions? Has Mercury gone retrograde again, or are we just not reading the room here? In a world that demands respect for personal boundaries, Smith posed a burning question: did Megan take it too far?

It’s a classic case of let’s get messy on social media—because why not? In the whirlwind of celebrity breakups, Smith speaks out on how airing out grievances might not be the best way to resolve things. This isn’t just another gossip story; it’s a knee-jerk reaction to the cosmic energy around us, urging us to reflect before we hit “post.” As the drama unfolds, we can only wonder—are we witnessing a symbolic clash of star signs, or is this just good old-fashioned celebrity chaos?

Longtime ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith is taking issue with the way Megan Thee Stallion called out her ex-boyfriend, Klay Thompson. On an episode of his podcast, “Straight Shooter with Stephen A,” the media personality slammed the “Body” rapper for airing out the former Golden State Warriors star’s personal business. Elsewhere during the episode, Smith questioned if Megan Thee Stallion had gone too far.

Smith isn’t one to keep his mouth shut on trending topics, and Megan Thee Stallion’s split from Thompson is no different. On a recent episode of his podcast, the 58-year-old broke his silence on the matter and questioned why she decided to split from the NBA star in front of the world.

“I’m having this episode on YouTube because I’m asking why is she telling his business? See, that’s where I want the ladies to listen. I’m sick and tired of what’s going on in this world. I’m not saying whatever she felt was wrong,” he said. “I don’t know what happened in their relationship. Don’t want to know. Ain’t none of my damn business. Ain’t none of y’all’s either. But Megan the Stallion made it so this Saturday night. Why?”

Indeed, Megan Thee Stallion blasted Thompson on her Instagram Stories last weekend, informing the world that she was no longer with the Dallas Mavericks star, who, just months ago, was implied to be the perfect man for her.

According to a previous report from The Blast, Megan Thee Stallion sent social media users into a frenzy when she blasted the 6’5″ guard in an explosive post, accusing him of being unfaithful to her during their nearly year-long relationship.

“Cheating, had me around your whole family playing house… got ‘cold feet,’” she wrote online. Megan Thee Stallion went further, accusing the NBA champion of treating her improperly during the regular season, citing his “HORRIBLE mood swings.”

Finishing, Megan Thee Stallion alleged Thompson told her he was unsure if monogamy was the right path for him moving forward. “B-tch, I need a REAL break after this one .. bye yall,” the rapper’s post finished.

Elsewhere during his episode, Smith reiterated his earlier point before asking Megan Thee Stallion if she believed her public post would solve their problems.

“What did I care what happened in your relationship with Klay Thompson?” Smith said. “What did he do to deserve you all of a sudden going on front street Page Six, TMZ or wherever the hell else to tell the world? How come you couldn’t just say it didn’t work out? Why you got to tell the business?”

Online, social media users reacted to Smith’s video, and many seemed to agree with the father of two’s position on the matter.

“He is making sense,” someone wrote. “Every man that left this woman, she has tried to bring them down. Enough is enough.”

“I mean, he isn’t wrong. Y’all just hate him, but he isn’t wrong,” another added.

Other users, meanwhile, voiced their displeasure with the ESPN mainstay’s take, like one user, who wrote, “Why are you worried about it? How is it affecting you and your hairline? Report on sports and HUSH.”

“Not angry at the cheating, but angry with the person who got cheated on because she decided to tell,” someone else posted.

Shortly after posting about their split on Instagram, Megan released an official statement, according to The Blast.

“Trust, fidelity and respect are non-negotiable for me in a relationship, and when those values are compromised, there’s no real path forward. I’m taking this time to prioritize myself and move ahead with peace and clarity,” she said.

Other public figures have reacted to her post, including WNBA star Angel Reese, who has been open about her love for the Texas native.

Reacting to a clip of Megan Thee Stallion crying on stage of “Moulin Rouge! The Musical,” Reese showed her support.

“It’s the way you show up even while carrying so much,” Reese wrote. “That’s what makes you THAT girl.”

Adding to it, Reese said, “You always have a little sister riding for you at dawn. I love you, sister.”
