Madonna made an appearance at Coachella as she joined Sabrina Carpenter on stage for her headline set, and the younger singer has been a fan of hers for a long time.
Carpenter has been headlining the place and it’s been going well, expect perhaps for that one incident with an audience member yodelling getting blown out of proportion.
Some fans were a little worried she was going to be ‘cancelled’ for her response to that but instead it seems to have joined the ever-growing roster of memes circulating around the internet, so well done there.
As for yesterday’s (17 April) show, near the end of her set she was joined by Madonna who strode onto the Coachella stage in a purple corset while the backing music shifted to the song ‘Vogue’.
It must have been a dream come true for Carpenter who seems to have been a longtime fan of Madonna’s, as a resurfaced social media post from the days when X was still Twitter had her saying the Queen of Pop was ‘amazing’ and had her ‘respect’.

Her message from 2012 would appear to indicate she’s a fan of Madonna’s, though unfortunately this means acknowledging that due to the relentless passage of time 2012 was a whopping 14 years ago.
It’s enough to make anyone with clear memories of that year feel quite old.
“Sabrina, thank you so much for inviting me on your show,” Madonna had said while on the Coachella stage, with Carpenter replying that there were ‘no thanks needed’ before the ‘Vogue’ singer continued.
“Well, I have a few things I want to get off my chest. So, 20 years ago today I performed at Coachella. I was in the dance tent, and it was the first time I performed Confessions On The Dance Floor Part One in America.”
Joking that it might well be the first time she’d performed with someone shorter than her, Madonna then started singing some of her own songs alongside Carpenter as they performed ‘Like A Prayer’.

The second part of Madonna’s Confessions album is due to release later this year.
She said it was a ‘thrill’ to be back at Coachella and felt like things had come ‘full circle’ for her and encouraged the crowd to get along with the music.
She said: “Let’s try to be together. Let’s try to avoid disagreements. And to that point, the great thing about music is that it brings people together.
“It’s the one place that people have to put their differences aside, put their s**t down and just everybody have a good time together, right So I am thrilled to be a part of that healing experience.”
