Tragedy has struck the “MasterChef” family as Yanin Campos, a fan-favorite contestant on “MasterChef México” and popular TikTok influencer, has died following a horrific car accident in her hometown of Chihuahua. She was 38.

The crash occurred early Saturday morning, around 6:30 a.m., along the Francisco R. Almada highway.

Yanin Campos was driving a black GMC Terrain when she reportedly lost control and slammed into a parked car.

According to local outlets, Campos was rushed to Hospital del Parque, where she was placed in the ICU in critical condition. Despite doctors’ efforts, she succumbed to her injuries on Monday night, just two days after the devastating accident.

Her brother, Raúl Campo, confirmed the heartbreaking news in a statement shared on social media. “To our family and friends, we inform you and mourn the passing of my sister, Yanin Campos. The wake is at the Hernández Funeral Home for those who would like to say goodbye and join us,” he wrote.

Local authorities have opened an investigation to determine the cause of the accident. Police say Campos veered off course before colliding with a stationary vehicle, but no further details have been released.

Campos first rose to fame in 2018 when she competed on “MasterChef México,” where her passion for food and charismatic personality quickly made her a standout. Although she placed sixth, she was invited back the following year to compete on “MasterChef: La Revancha” in 2019.

More recently, she had cultivated a loyal following on TikTok, where nearly 100,000 fans tuned in to her content. Her posts often mixed her love for food with glimpses into her personal life.

Following her breakout on “MasterChef México,” Yanin Campos continued to reinvent herself both in and out of the kitchen.

She launched an OnlyFans account, offering exclusive content for a $7 monthly subscription. Rather than spark distance, the move cemented her image as someone fearless about breaking stigmas and expressing herself authentically, even through unconventional platforms.

On television, Campos became the host of “La Tertulia,” where her charisma and presence kept her connected to local audiences. She also remained deeply tied to the culinary world, teaming up with chef Raúl Linares on artisanal baking projects and developing menus for vegetarian and ovo-lacto vegetarian restaurants.

Posing next to a classic red telephone booth with Big Ben rising in the background, Campos wore a pink coat with a fur-trimmed collar, black beret, and oversized glasses, looking both stylish and cheerful as she leaned casually against the booth.

She captioned the post with a simple, heartfelt line, “Taking a stroll.”

Fans, friends, and fellow contestants have since flooded social media with tributes, remembering Campos not just as a talented chef but as a warm and joyful spirit who left a lasting mark on everyone she met.

“I just heard about the news and how sad, so young and beautiful, we met her for her participation in ‘Masterchef,’ but it certainly hurts to think that a 38-year-old woman left like that,” one social media user commented on Campos’ final Instagram post. “I don’t know her family, but I hope God sends them a quick resignation. Rest in Peace, Yanin.”
